1000GB. So roughly 100GB a month for you. That's pretty high consumption - most likely lots of video streaming. Unless you download a lot, since Smart doesn't cap file sharing sites.

I also have Smart unli data (corpo plan 1600) and that's what I like about it - I download most of my movies and games to my phone before transferring to my laptop/desktop.

Anyway, in that case if you consume that much in a month then it makes more sense to keep the unli data plan since no capped plan offers that much allocation at a cheap price.

Yup. A 2-hour movie in 720p is roughly 1.5-2GB already if you stream it.

So if I can manage to trim it down to 50GB/Month wala pa rin plan na 50GB/month data?

I think I can trim my usage by turning on wifi sa house or office of anywhere Meron wifi.

mas ok sa akin yung may phone na plan.. if the phone they give is aroung 12T pesos and lock in is 24 months, so that's 500/month, so I'm actually just paying for 499 sa plan 999 ko.. ok na sa akin yung mga free phones nila.. the last time I recontracted, I got a Lenovo Vibe Z K910, that time nasa 20T+ yung phone na yun.. I'm recontracting this year again..

Not always. I was in this dilemma for my brother recently - if I was gonna upgrade his plan and get a phone or just keep the plan and buy a phone elsewhere.

Case 1: Upgrade with free phone
    Plan: 999/month
    Phone (S7E): 19,200 or 800/month
    Total monthly spend: 1,799/month
    Total 2-year spend: P43,176

Case 2: Keep plan, buy phone outside
    Plan: 599/month
    Phone (Note 5): 14,500 or 604/month
    Total monthly spend: 1,203/month
    Total 2-year spend: P28,872

    2-year savings: P14,304

    1TB = 1024 GB = 1024 MB = 1024 KB = 1024 B

Have not had any issues with Globe prepaid ... Load balance is intact whenever I check it ... don't think a company would deliberately program their system to deduct load unnecessarily ... some people just don't monitor their usage well ... usual cause of load problems would be when the user forgets the expiry of their unli promo subscription ...

Sometimes it's cheaper to buy a phone and use a lower plan ...

May mga phones ang globe na ang mura ng cash out gaya last year. Huawei p9. Sa plan 999, cash out lang ng 6k. E 20k+ sa labas yun. Yung iba naman so so lang. Parang bumili ka nga rin sa labas plus monthly mo. No difference. So depende talaga sa offer. Iba iba

Prepaid din ako before back in college. Hindi naman ako nawawalan.

Now that I'm on postpaid, it's even easier to track any fishy charges.

*Cathy dika pa naka 900mb and you're paying 2500 a month? I noticed ni charge ka pa din in excess of your data.. maybe you need to upgrade your plan.. masyadong mababa ang free data mo for the amount you are paying..

Kahit sa high-end, depende rin. When I bought my girlfriend a Note 5 in 2015, 19k lang cashout kay Globe for plan 999, more than 30k pa sa labas.

But now na mura nalang Note 5, it doesn't make sense to buy it from Globe because it's selling for under 20k outside.

For my sister naman, the iPhone 7 Plus launched for 32k cash out but she needed to upgrade to plan 999. Eh nakabili siya ng iPhone 7 Plus sa labas na 38k lang na bnew din, she got to keep her plan 599 pa.

    999 x 24 + 32k = 56k
    599 x 24 + 38k = 52k

So nakatipid pa siya kahit paano. Bottomline, case to case basis. A bit of math goes a long way to finding the best deal. I know some people don't like crunching the numbers but this is the kind of computation that I enjoy so I do it with practically every facet of my life.

400 per month ba ang rebate ng 999 pag di kumuha ng phone? Kala ko 300?

300 o 400 mas mura nga bumili ng sarili

    200 right now.

I was comparing between my sister's current plan (599 - 3GB data and usual unli) vs having to upgrade to get the sweetspot of the plan with phone (999 - 4GB data and usual unli).

200 na lang ngayon?? Ganyan kasi ang comparison ko with my mom and aunts postpaid lines. Kung mas malaki ba value ng phone vs sa monthly rebate x24. Ang baba na lang pala

The value of getting a bundled phone for most is the ability to amortize the cost across 24 months. And even though you're paying for the phone in your monthly bill, I think some portion of it is considered consumable. You just have to do the math for each plan and get the one that makes the most sense for you.
