i don't think open sila on sundays. pumunta kuya ko dati ng sunday, puro mga pirated dvd lang nakita nya. hehehe :D

hmmm... my card reader doesn't support xd card.

ako rin, usually auto or p mode lang. pero minsan, gusto ko paglaruan yung iso settings. para kahit medyo madilim yung pic, less yung noise coz of too high iso setting. edit na lang sa photoshop

as for using alkaline or energizer, i think it would be a great investment to buy a set of rechargeable batteries and a quick charger. this would definitely last up to 10x longer than ordinary batteries and you're helping the environment by lessening the garbage IMHO

Z750.....

hmmm, you *could* just carry an extra pair or two of NiMH batteries as backup. i bet you could fit that right into whatever carrying case you're using. mura pa.

Canon A540 or A700 are really bulky cameras, hard to carry.

Sony T9 uses proprietary memory sticks. Can you tell that I hate proprietary memory formats?

I just got a Casio Exilim S600. The Exilim Z750 is also good.

there are lots of AA batteries around, try buying those with 2100maH rating up. and get a 2nd set. mura lang naman ang AA. IMHO lang

about sony memory stick, yes, you could not use it on other devices other than sony products. but its price is already on the same level as those of the SD and MMC

i think A700 is good, it already has 6x optical zoom compared to the usual 4x zoom of the a-series. it's not that pocketable, but it is also not that bulky. it's in the middle. hehehe

Yeah the pro duo is almost the same price sa mga SD cards, baka nga in some stores mas mura pa eh...hehehe pwede ko rin gamitin siya sa PSP ko hehehe.....

guys meron pala akong nabasa tungkol sa canon, madaling masira ang lens, if not the sensor the thing that retracts it...which is true, sa akin sira ang sensor yung sa friend yung lens...kayo whats your experience? so baka the A series is out na for me....baka Xilim na ako or sony t9....may ibang suggestions pa ba diyan hehehe thanks....

AA batteries are actually preferable to proprietary (here we go again) li-ion. Very flexible, you can use alkaline, lithium, nimh, or even CR-V3 (some models only).

The Casio Exilim S600 is very close to the ideal camera for me. Costs 18k. Super slim, comfortable enough to carry everyday. Battery life is great considering its size. Picture quality isn't as good as the bigger cams. It's got MPEG-4 movie mode so you can capture 640x480 30fps video for 1 hour on only a 1GB card. On a Canon that's only good for a measly 8 minutes

There's also the Exilim Z750. I used to have one. It's slightly thicker, has poorer ergonomics, dimmer screen, than the S600, but is superior everywhere else.

Lens problems are very common with any brand, not just Canon.

As for sensor, in 2004 Sony produced faulty sensors which affected a LOT of cameras of different brands. Check if the cam is included in the recall. I had 2 cams affected by this.

My recommendation is the Exilim S600 if you want ultracompact, or Z750.

Sony T9 is way overpriced, and the "sony color" just doesn't suit my taste, oversaturated, and greens become yellow-green, and the movie mode is not as sophisticated as in the Exilim.

Guys after reviews, consultation etc. etc. I think I'm down to the following brands and models....

    Casio-
    S600
    Z750
    Z500

    Canon-
    A620
    A700

may nag-comment lang daw sa canon ang movies niya is heavy on the MB like 1gb memory can only hold 8minutes of video...is this true? while sa casio daw 1gb hold up to 1 hour of video....ito nalang ang problema ko sa canon...

What do you guys think of my choices? please comment hehehe para lalo ako maguluhan hahaha joke lang....hehehe

That's a very easy decision. Get the Casio Z750, or if you're like me who wants the smallest possible camera, the S600.

The Casio Z500 is not very good, no MPEG4 so the movies will take lots of space like the Canons.

Canon A620, the Casio Z750 will beat it in all aspects, except for the extra zoom. There's no reason to get this camera.

The Z750 will also easily beat all the Canon Ixus cams.

A700. 6x zoom but no optical stabilizer so at full tele it will be prone to hand shake.

there was a recall for some canon models with faulty sensors. halos kasabay ng recall ng sony. hindi kaya iisang manufacturer lang sila ng sensors?
