SE K800i User Pros and Cons Experience

To all:
Been planning lately to buy the Sony Ericson K800i phone, but before getting it... wanted to get some first hand info/experience from those who have it.

Me too got nearly 1000 contacts, and that is a good input... anybody out there got so share about their K800i?

Joystick. It uses the same joystick as the k750i which is known to malfuncture prematurely. I should know, nagloloko na yung sa sa 750i ko e. Less than a year palang yun.

wow!! more than 1000 contacts? that must be a PITA to enter them using the phone keys. i hope it can be syncronized with a computer for easier data entry.

900+ ang contacts ko. thanks to ActiveSync and MS Outlook, i can easily transfer my contacts whenever i change my phone.

for general back-up (sms, phonebook etc.) i use MyPhoneExplorer + bluetooth dongle. neat little program

Yup! It's just dirty. I clean the joystick with electric contact cleaner from time to time. Pero compared to other phones, masyado syang mabilis dumumi and require cleaning. Buti nalang wala warranty yung phone ko kaya I can open it without thinking of voiding the warranty.

Hassle na din minsan mag linis e.

Madali magasgas lens cover
Silicon case design availability
joystick dumihin
Maliit masyado ang (micro)memory card at masyadong mahal.
Hindi lumalabas how many total inbox msgs.

Pero over all...it's value for money. Wala naman celphone na walang negative feedbacks eh.

Tsaka napansin ko biglang bagsak price niya, dati nasa 25k, ngayon nasa 18k na lang in less than 6 months.

Joystick pala kryptonite (kahinaan) n'ya... madalas pa naman ako gumamit ng joystik kasi current phone ko is Voyager. My voyager is 2 years old, dropped several times, pero gumagana pa din joystick and never had it repaired.

How about some sample pics of the digicam of it?

Just bought one today. It fits my emergency budget just right kasi.

Anyways, feel ko rin joystick ang kahinaan nito... lubog na (dust-prone), kagaya pa ng mga lumang models (T-series and earlier K-series).

Average cost of the joystick pa naman pag papalitan is 500... repair around 300. Keypads nga rin pala nito eh medyo madaling matanggal ung plating. Saken kakabili ko lang nagkagasgas na agad ung SELECT key. Price of keypad? No clue pa. Pero for original, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be pricey.

The lens cover is scratch-prone rin. Due to the paint ??? na ginamit. Ang pangit tignan sigurado pag tumagal na. Parang itim na sasakyan ba na may deep scratches na all over.

Pero it's camera does stand for it's DIGICAM branding. Kinompare ko kanina lang ung shots nya sa luma naming 3MP na digicam. Medyo mas mataas ung noise ng image na kuha nya pero 4R printouts were acceptable.

Un lang masasabi ko sa ngaun. Testing ko pa. Btw, la pa ba settings ang SUN para dito? Isa pang problema ko ngaun un... di ko maaccess ung The Mall via the phone para idownload ung settings. Check pa ko sa site ng SE ngaun kung meron.

Batan_Raon14, thanks for the feedback sa digicam capability. Sample pic would help.
Also how about the video capture? What video format does it support?
I have tons of my DVD converted (AVI) to play with my Smartphone... so not sure if K800i will be able to play avi files... one of my worries, or else I have to do video conversion just to suit it to K800i play format.

My wife has one and she's very satisfied. Maganda pics. May flash. AF.

For a camera phone, outstanding na picture quality nito. Although 128MB lang ang memory, expandable naman eh. There are 1GB cards selling for 3K.
