"Anyway, I am still using an Acer 1170 DLP projector which is much better than ones found at CDR-King. Of course, costing nearly four times more, I do expect better performance from it than the CDR-KING projector.

Not everyone has the skill nor patience necessary to build their own projector or others simply prefer a more compact solution than a DIY projector can be."

    I respect your opinion.

Made one before, bought the parts from Rialto. Costs of DIY is generally the same as a low-end EPSON or ACER projector these days, but the hard work actually does pay off IF you get it right.

hertzblaster1 is not just one of the enthusiasts in these DIY projector projects. I've seen Russians build theirs relying on LED and producing the same sharpness as that of the bulbs in the original design.

In all actuality, there is a market for this IF there's a shop that could make it easier for DIYers to make their own box. It wasn't easy really for me to cut the glasses I bought from Rialto and it wasn't any easier to determine the center of the glass if you didn't have much of a construction basics course or what-not in Elementary or High School.

But again, there is a MARKET, and interest CAN boom - if only there are parts for sale that are already pre-cut and ready to install to a pre-made box similar to that of CPU parts being installed onto CPU boxes in a personal computer. Sayang din kasi, I've seen setups that beat the hell out of the projection capabilities of even the high-end off-the-shelf projectors these days. Just my .02.

If you are pointing out if I am the one in the WRONG FORUM, you might want to check on your own words before going any further.

Peace or no peace, I fracking hate people who use "PEACE" as the last word in their message as if it means anything near to it.

    PEACE!

keystone is very easy to do for small projector like when using 7 inch lcd. You can even eliminate keystoning problem with longer throw lens and a slight lens shifting of field fresnel.

    yrralz,

The project I last posted got bought only yesterday even though its not yet finished and sya na lang daw magtutuloy tapusin.

I relented to his pleading instead of him building it from scratch because I still have one project to make.

I need to build ceiling mounted projector for my Bro's VIP room. I need a redesign to project 100 inches image size at 18 ft throw distance. I already have a design in mind.

I will start this project soon. Its expected to be 2 inches longer than the above projector but it will be a rectangular shape but the depth is only 5 inches.

keystone problem will not be an issue in this next design because the projector is kinda long throw one.

I understand you got your lenses from old ohp. I can help you if you will share to me the focal length of your lenses and pics will be of big help so that maybe we can salvage more parts in your old OHP.

How do you "finish" your projects? As shown in your pictures, your projects still have that raw plywood surface. Do you paint them or apply some sort of surface (vinyl or wood laminate) to look better?

Its the finishing . We have to make it look good because magagalit si misis.

vinyl is the easiest way to finish it, but need more sanding to smoothen the surface.
