Can't open daw. If i were you i'd check first the cpu box by pulling out the video card and memory, clean the contacts with eraser then re-insert back. Connect a monitor then fire up. If bios appears then you're good, no need to buy replacement hardware..

If it has no power(no lights or anything), remove the 50 pin molex connector then locate the pin with green wire, using a pc of paper clip, bridge that pin to any contact with black wire.. If the power supply didn't fire up(blower or led lights on the panel) then throw that PS away. You could replace a busted ATX power supply in less than P1k, surplus are cheaper but as long as its within the original wattage spec then it should work without issues.

^follow-up: If it's not the power supply unit that's broken. Listen for the beeps. 90% of the time, you only need to wipe and clean the RAM sticks.
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

I don't understand why people are asking about the CPU, it's stated in the first post that he has a Celeron. Most likely the dual-core Celeron (E1xxx series) which was launched in 2008.

That's a slow CPU by today's standards. Even internet browsing and MS office will feel laggy. A 2008-era PC will most likely have only 1GB or 2GB RAM, which isn't enough if you want smooth operation with Win 7.

Your 10k budget isn't enough for a decent gaming PC if you want to go brand new, but that's more than enough for a secondhand rig.

Get an i3 processor (i3-2100 or newer) and a decent video card (at least GTX 460). Pair those two with a true-rated PSU, 4 GB RAM and 1 TB HDD, and you'll have a PC that'll play DOTA2 with ease and will run fine for the next few years.

    Sample:

    Intel i3-2100 + H61 board (used) - P4,000
Sapphire HD 7770 video card (used) - P3,500
    Corsair VS450 PSU (bnew) - P1,650

    Total: P9,150

Just recycle your old case, hard drive, disk drive, and peripherals (keyboard, mouse, etc). I recommend a brand new true-rated PSU because too many idiots use generic PSUs then wonder why their PCs conk out too early on. Generic PSUs (like what most PC bundles are sold with) give erratic current/voltage which can damage your components and cause them to fail prematurely. They are also less efficient (nowhere near 80% efficient which is the industry minimum).
