winter is coming
Just s thought, weren't Russian bombers dropping bombs on Syrian rebels as well as ISIS? If so, that would explain why the pilot of the downed Russian plane was shot. It's no secret that Putin is backing up Assad since the West is backing up the rebels.
Further, a lot of analysts point out this wasn't the first time Russia entered or tried to enter Turkey's airspace. It appears they've been doing so even before Russia decided to join the conflict in Syria.
Just my two cents.
Just when you think it can't get any worse, McCain's so-called "moderate rebels" shoot down a search and rescue helicopter with US supplied Traversing Unit Guided Missile M83. serial: 208520.

Damn, son! Where'd you find this?
the problem here is that the US backed rebels have sworn allegiance to IS
here's something else to consider. the downed Su-24 was *ON* the border for 9 seconds though NATO alleged it was 30 seconds or so. The plane was shot from behind. In order for that plane to be shot on that location, the F-16 had to fire it from behind with a minimum range of 500 meters. Ergo, the Turkish F-16 had to enter the Syrian border as well to get that attack vector because according to the Turks, they were warning the Su-24 during the intercept.

for a better understanding of how Turkey's border work, refer to this:

you will understand bettwe what I meant that the Turkish F-16 had to enter the Syrian border as well. hehe

This is a very strange time for oil.
i can remember not so long ago, at the slightest hint of dissent in the ME, oil prices would spike. Yet now we have ISIS rampaging across Syria/Iraq, and oil is under US$40/barrel.
Basically there's too much oil these days. Contributing factors are: China economic slowdown, US shale boom, OPEC not cutting oil production, new production from Iraw and Iran, smuggled oil from ISIS(as much as 75% discount daw, as long as you pay in cash)
Funny to think that, before the start of the decade, there was talk about the world running out of oil, with oil reaching US$145/barrel.![]()
there already talks behind the scenes of deescalating the situation.
here is another map(Turkish government) showing the flight paths.
It makes one wonder why the blue line stopped all of a sudden right on the border. hehehe
if so, this would be the first time I've seen an F-16 intercept launching a missile beyond visual range at a 110 degree angle instead of launching straight ahead. hahaha
the Su-24 at subsonic cruise (500-800 kph) should be able to cover 3.8 km (the distance covered during entry into turkish airspace) in about 17-28 seconds.
the russian version of the flight paths suggests that the Su-24 was engaged within visual range
there is already a similar incident on october 5 that ended smoothly.
do note that 28 second window is such a short time for hailing, interrogation, warning, and *locking*. imagine it this way:
turk: halt. identify yourself.
rusky: I am russian. just passing by. do not shoot.
turk: you are entering turkish airspace.
rusky: all right, I am turning away. almost there.
turk: too late, I already fired the missile.
it makes KAL-007 incident look tame with the 3 hour window before getting shot down. hahaha

Nice post safeorigin. Makes sense imho.

this furthers my suspicion: Rescued Su-24 Co-Pilot Rules Out Turkish Space Violation 'Even for Second'
this is the guy who shot the Su-24M"There were no warnings. Not via the radio, not visually. There was no contact whatsoever. That's why we were keeping our combat course as usual. You have to understand what the cruising speed of a bomber is compared to an F-16. If they wanted to warn us, they could have shown themselves by heading on a parallel course. But there was nothing. And the rocket hit our tail completely unexpectedly. We didn't even see it in time to take evasive maneuvres."
while NATO seemed to have deescalated, somebody is being naughty: Russia Says Turkey's Attack On Jet Was "Planned Provocation" As Ankara Moves Tanks Near Syrian Border | Zero Hedge
turns out that the Su-24 entered the turkish border within 17 seconds. lol. how exactly do you warn the pilot in that span of time and manage to lock onto the bomber?

Yan din expectation ko sir, there was even talk about the US becoming a net oil exporter...but apparently the Saudis/OPEC saw this coming, that's why they didn't curb oil production -- they intended to drive oil prices down to make shale operations unprofitable, buy them up for pennies, then jack prices up again once they've controlled it. Problem is, it's taking longer than expected, and Saudi Arabia now has to borrow money because of losses in selling oil. Strange times indeed.
sorry OT na
