So how long is this lower price scenario expected to last? At least until the cold weather starts to set in? Naiinip na yung mga aktibista, di daw sila maka-racket ng rally.

PSBank has one of the largest repo lots. Once pa lang nakita kong naubos yan... nung na Ondoy yung old lot nila. :D

Nag sale sila recently sa warehouse (10% off minimum and buying price).

dito financing companies are making it possible for low income earners to buy new cars

Never understood the appeal. Under 30k earnings per month, then you'll commit to 15k in monthly payments, plus the additional 5k in gasoline and parking that it'll cost you? You're left with 10k, minus electricity and rent... what are you going to eat? The styrofoam they packed your appliances in?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

i think the buyers dont really think about other expenses when buying a new car

all they think about is if their monthly income is greater than the monthly payments. if yes then go

then after they're using the car na reality sets in

kaya meron nagpopost paano pa tipirin sa gas ang Suzuki Alto

The proper response to which is... to buy a buy-cycle.

when oil price collapsed in 2008/09 something called super-contango happened

that's when spot price was far lower than futures prices

to profit from that speculators bought oil and stored it in supertankers to sell the oil in future months where prices are higher

    Jan 2009

Oil Traders Seek Another 10 Supertankers for Storage (Update3) - Bloomberg

Jan. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Oil traders are seeking as many as 10 supertankers to store crude, potentially taking the amount hoarded at sea to almost five days of European Union demand, according to Frontline Ltd., the largest owner of the vessels.

About 25 of the carriers, each able to hold about 2 million barrels of crude, were already hired for storage. There are enquiries for 5 to 10 more, Jens Martin Jensen, Singapore-based interim chief executive officer of the company’s management unit, said by phone today. Traders are storing crude to take advantage of higher prices for supply in the future.

Thirty-five supertankers represent about 7 percent of the global fleet of very large crude carriers, according to data from London-based Drewry Shipping Consultants Ltd. Storing oil in tankers may buoy rental rates that fell by a record 78 percent last year as slower economic growth sapped demand for energy.
well, Brent is in contango now

spot price has fallen below futures prices but not by much

if the gap widens, it will make the same trade described above profitable

Supertanker sea storage looms as oil prices fall | Reuters

    LONDON | Mon Jun 25, 2012 11:57am EDT

(Reuters) - Speculators could soon be hoarding crude oil in supertankers off the coast of Britain and other European countries if prompt oil prices keep falling, shipping and oil industry executives say.

A glut of crude oil in western spot markets is forcing the price of oil for immediate delivery below forward futures costs, and it could soon be profitable to buy oil, store it and sell it later in the year at higher prices.

Three years ago - the last time oil prices fell sharply on world spot markets - dozens of supertankers were moored along the English south coast and off Scotland as floating storage.

    1. God knows. They think it's good business. As long as the spreadsheets tell them that they're still in the black if they repossess the car, they'll go for it... but then again... with the payment schemes, I don't see how that's possible either.

    2. Buyers who want brand new are going to get brand new, whatever the cost. It's a different mentality from those who are okay with buying secondhand.

    3. Depends on the trajectory of the economy. If it stalls... it will burst the bubble. But then again, the number of defaults won't be as huge as with the housing/real estate bubble in the 90's.

    4. Tumpak.

    5. Nah. Unlike Bosnia, the majority is too squeamish to commit genocide like they did in Bosnia...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
