The savings got offset with the traffic in my case. My car is now going at 8+ km/l. Previously it never went below 9 km/l

Exactly, we are losing billions of P in opportunities everyday in traffic,- and we will lose more if the situation cannot be rectified....

The government seems unperturbed,- The Gates of Hell!!!

I just realized, whether the government does something about the traffic or not, there's nothing we can do to influence their action.

We can, however, make adjustments to our own driving habits/schedules. I make it a point not to go out during rush hour if I don't have to, and I bike to nearby places as much as possible to save on fuel and parking costs.

If this isn't possible, the least you can do is adjust how you react to the inconvenience. Getting pissed at the traffic won't make it any better, but it can elevate your blood pressure and stress levels. Hence, making an effort not to get pissed can actually extend your life by a few years.

Our government is run by people who don't know how to manage things. For example, they allow buses to run unscheduled trips resulting in fuel wastage.

The same observation applies to jeepneys.

Unfortunately 8 to 5 employees with desk jobs cannot do this. I am just lucky that my boss allows me to come in anytime though I get teased that I work on "graveyard". I tried going to work at 9, 10, 11, 12 and 1. All TRAFFIC and that started last week. So adjusting your schedule does not work anymore and I cannot bike or walk to work bec by the time I get to work I will smell of sun, dust and smog.

cool ka lang bro... napag-uusapan lang naman dito na maraming perwisyo ang dulot ng trapik pero may point ka rin. kaya nung ako ay ma-assign sa alabang ay doon ako mismo tumira
but then again, yung iba nag-titiis na lang para magkakasama sila sa iisang bubong where their own family stays kahit pa malayo sa kanilang work place
BTT:nag-lie low na ako minding the gas price when i had my diesel fed car dahil gusto kong mas convenient ang aking travel.
i'm also very happy to know for any price cut during any of my top up.
feeling ko rin na dapat mas mababa pa ang gas pump prices against the current world oil price but can't do anything if this petrol stations cut only that much.

For me, commuting to QC from the province would cost about 3-4k a month, for an 80 kilometer round trip. (Good thing I don't commute regularly... and good thing I don't work in QC).

Good luck finding a condo or apartment in the Ortigas area that's anywhere near that cheap.

The price of housing in an area will naturally rise to match the demand for housing and the income level of workers there. As it is, housing around the business centers isn't enough to supply everyone. And our public transport and road systems are completely inadequate. When I go to Manila on the bus, Magallanes is jam-packed with vehicles, half of them buses already... and the buses are standing room only.

There are just too many people both living and working in Manila. We need to decongest the metro. Badly.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Yup. MOPS trend is P1.02 for gasoline and P0.94 for diesel as of this morning.

That's why I don't mind working in the province. I wake up late and have a lot more time to do stuff. Question is how to go about decongesting the Metro. I still dream of having a freight train line for cargo containers instead of trucks and high speed trains to and from the Metro. So we can finally do away with all the old cargo trucks and jeeps. Businesses need to reconsider putting up establishments in the provinces as well. More businesses in the provinces = more jobs = less reasons to go to the Metro = less traffic.

    higher! higher! :cheer3:

$95/barrel ok na, pero huwag naman $70! i know madami magagalit dito pero what we need is stable oil price, not fluctuating oil prices. matindi din ang effect ng low oil price sa world economy- deflation leads to recession. besides lower oil prices now will just mean very high oil prices in the future.

this is all we need, kasi pag fluctuating mas lamang ang increase kesa decrease ang nangyayari.

as i posted a few page back, am not minding much now kung ano na ang current gas pump price - thanks to my diesel fed car!
