any plane still has to take off from the airport. he will have to walk, whatever plane he uses.

a helicopter should be able do do it, at a fraction of the purchase cost of that plane. it can take off from the malacanang lawn.
and it is argueably more versatile than that plane, too.

    of course,
the plane is akin to a suit, and the heli, denims.

A heli is not suited for a flight to Mindanao. Too far, too dangerous & operating costs are also costly. Fifteen years ago, an hours ride in a heli costs 30k. Pag private plane naman, limo brings him right beside the plane on the tarmac & he gets carried up.
The operating expense of a jet is costly. There are better things to spend the tax payers money on.

    then we both agree.
for a small cash-strapped country, "traveling by private aircraft is expensive."

    next time,
    we should formulate a law,
"the President is mandated to reside in malacanang palace for the duration of his term."
only in a limited number of days, is he allowed to sleep elsewhere.
violation is subject to automatic impeachment.

You might be better off renting a plane. Walang headache sa operating costs & maintenance. Di ka pa mapapansin masyado.

Well they can do something similar to a 'bareboat charter' where possession and maintenance of the aircraft will be for the Lessee for 6 years. As compared to getting hit with full ownership costs.

Yes that would be a more economical and logical thing to do.

Mahirap talaga itago or magmalasakit sa perang hindi sa iyo. Kaya ayan bumili na lang ng private jet. Mga Pilipino lang naman ang naghihirap hindi ang mga tao sa Malacaņang.

This is supposed to be the PAF procurement priority for their PAF Modernization Project Horizon 2

    *Horizon 1 = 2013-2017, Horizon 2 = 2018-2022 & Horizon 3 = 2023-2028

Paauwi rin dapat. And i am sure they'll find a way to clear out the jeep for his "security" and "media time".

I wonder if he meant taking it alone incognito or with an entourage complete with taga bitbit ng payong ala Abaya?

Challenge accepted: Panelo to commute to Malacanang on October 11

Next, press conference, "madali lang mag commute, kayo lang ang maarte" - lines na mostly sasabihin nya. Heheh.
