Ano sasabihin ng "best ever president in the whole universe" natin? .... di ba di nagpapasindak mypres natin?

"These would be the first missiles in the Spratlys, either surface to air, or anti-ship," he said. He added that such deployments were expected as China built missile shelters on the reefs last year and already deployed such missile systems on Woody Island further to the north.

Poling said it would be a major step on China's road to dominating the South China Sea, a key global trade route.

"Before this, if you were one of the other claimants ... you knew that China was monitoring your every move. Now you will know that you're operating inside Chinese missile range. That's a pretty strong, if implicit, threat."

I think the Kuwaitis are hinting they don't want to deal with Matet and his minions...

Kuwait cuts off power, water to Philippine envoy?s home | Philstar.com

Kuwait also issued warrants of arrest and a travel ban against DFA Office of Migrant Workers Affairs (OMWA) executive director Raul Dado, who was pinpointed by the four Filipino drivers as the one who supervised the seven teams from the embassy and the DFA that carried out the rescue missions.

Arrest warrants were also issued against two other diplomatic personnel, Francis Baquiran and Omar Hassan, as they were also identified by the drivers they hired.

“They can stay at the embassy but Kuwaitis could turn off water and electricity to force them to surrender,” a source said.

Sources said the three sneaked into the embassy instead of going back to their hotel when Dado was told that embassy staff saw his photos all over immigration counters at the airport.

Certainly. But China is untested in war.
Meantime, Chinese movies nowadays has a lot of plot featuring the might of their military -- in disasters, conflicts, rescue and humanitarian efforts - they feature their tactics, methods, arms, gadgets (with kung fu styles). They are mind conditioning their citizens of how good their army is, of course someone would ask how far is all of that from reality.

China's rise will balance the power play is Asia. But yeah your are right, its inevitable that they will lock each others horn in an effort to tilt the balance.

Sadly, if war breaks out between the 2, there no way we can escape it. we have MTD with US, and we are a province of China. So many complex dynamics in play. OF course you have DU30 licking Xi Jinpings balls regularly

The reality of war looks to be more and more possible in this region ... so ang tanong na lang eh, ilan ba (sa atin) ang may escape plan? ... nganga na lang ba?

with today's technology, where war materiel can fall down from the sky anywhere on the planet, where can we hide?

but i have this feeling, nobody wants to go to war. not when a significant percentage of their economy is fed by customers outside their country.
but... i could be wrong. "madmen are not extinct in this world".

    "urgent" is relative, po.
but there is a difference between "urgent" and "have the urge to".
what i do know, is that the dfa folks are also human and can bend a bit to address reasonable requests.

there was an interview before, where the dfa person mentioned that some folks were renewing their passport (ahead of time ??), because "they just wanted the new passport".
