So useless and propaganda lang din talaga iyong mga press release na may mga papasok daw na investors everytime may matapos na mga roadshow at junkets si presidente [emoji33]

theres no sense for investors investing on local companies that are doomed or are redundant in the next years to come. thats the true sense of it all, money is being allotted to where it is useful the most.

dollar reservers are not really what we should care about why. Bec. we have china as a friend and provider. sa pagkaalam ko barter na ang trading natin sa kanila, di na kelangan ng dollar. the same as with Russia, from what I recall we paid them agricultural products in exchange of weapons for our security forces.

Yan talaga nakikita ko na problema. Lalaki pa corruption kasi 60% of IRA will be to federal units in the current proposals of the ConCom iirc.

Good summary of things to come:

[OPINION] What scares me the most about China’s new, ‘friendly’ loans

I'd just add that when it comes to the point where a debtor country is forced to pay off the loan in non monetary terms, the commodities used to pay are obscenely undervalued by China.

from the article posted by Wh1stl3r above:

This strategy of China – known as “debt-trap diplomacy” – has victimized many poor countries in the past decade. China deepens its economic and political leverage worldwide as poor debtor countries suffer economic hardships.

    Examples abound:

In February, China sent 11 warships in the East Indian Ocean as a constitutional crisis raged in the Maldives, which owes China at least $2 billion in loans. China and India are vying for influence over the island chain.
Last December, Sri Lanka was forced to give China a 99-year lease on its strategic Hambantota port after failing to pay its debts. The port city of Mombasa in Kenya could suffer the same fate, after China funded a $3.8-billion railway there.
In 2017, Djibouti allowed the construction of China’s first overseas military base, on top of paying China $20 million per year for its outstanding debt.
Venezuela, now in the midst of economic crisis, also borrowed $63 billion from China between 2007 and 2014, and China insisted that Venezuela repay it with oil.
Turkmenistan has also given China access to its natural gas supplies after encountering similar debt troubles.
It seems, therefore, that part of China's debt-trap diplomacy is to use as collateral a poor debtor country’s natural resources and strategic assets.

Ano kaya ibabayad natin sa utang o sa uutangin sa china? Kasi nasa kanila na yun disputed islands, Benham Rise kaya??

Napapansin ko din na madaming from mainland na tourist ngayon sa mga malls. Kung masmarami naman, i don't think this influx of tourist from them is enough to cover the lower FDI.
