Last year, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Iloilo City ranked 51st in the list of cities and provinces with drug-affected barangays. Iloilo province ranked 79th. (In contrast, Davao City, in 2016, ranked 20th in the country.)

But in August last year, the President relied on anecdotal evidence: his own experience. After identifying Iloilo officials he said were involved in narcotics, he said in a mix of English and Filipino: “When I was campaigning actually, every person there, everyone, [told him] ‘Mayor, if you can, please help us.’”


But if, as early as August last year, the administration had the goods on Mabilog, why were no charges filed against him? If he was using his office to promote an illegal drugs culture in Iloilo City, one of the country’s major cities, why wasn’t he preventively suspended? If it were true that narcotics continued to thrive under Mabilog, why did the authorities fail to do anything after the President pinpointed the mayor?

Haha sino ba may hawak ng pdea nung 2015? Diba noynoy admin? So to cover their drug business in their turf dapat gawan ng maling report para continue ang business. Kung nagbabasa ka, ang tanong alam na raw ni Digong na involved sa drugs. Pero bakit kailangan pa papuntahin dun si Espenido? Mahina ba si Bato at di niya kaya utusan na arestuhin ning 2016? Arestuhin niya at pakantahin kung sino supplier at kasabwat. O baka naman kasi involved ang mga Du30 sa drugs kaya ayaw na pakantahin? Sabi nga eh, ang magnanakaw galit sa kakompetensyang magnanakaw.

This means more foreign exchange is going out of the country than coming in. That’s not so bad if the money is going into the purchase of capital goods, or as the economic managers claim, to prepare for the big infrastructure push. If the money only goes to satisfy appetite for consumer goods, then we may be in trouble sooner, than later.

the money is going to importation of cars coz everybody's panic buying cars ahead of the excise tax
