Hindi ba puwedeng mag-hinay-hinay si psycho sa war on drugs niya? That's one hell of a way to lower the international pressure, if not dissipate it entirely. No need to wait for sanctions to be imposed. Less war on drugs, less international pressure, no sanctions. Problem solved di ba? Hindi naman niya ikamamatay kung i-tone down niya yung war on drugs niya a notch or two. Kumbaga sa mga kriminal, palamig muna. So palamig lang muna si psycho until pressure blows off.

I think that's the general idea they have right now but I don't think that will happen, they'll just wait it out. EU and US can't afford to lose an ally in a highly tense region.

And the 'tards are still in denial about the existence of EJK's. That is just so tragic.

*nissde: Sinabi ko na hindi hearsay yung mga investors na hindi muna nag-invest sa Pinas or naglay-low sa investment because of PGongs antics. Medyo alanganin pa sila. Hindi ko kasi maintindihan 1st sentence mo. EJK hindi naman talaga hearsay diba?!

Would they do that without an excuse? Let's say somebody did lobby EJK there to use external factors to try and remove Du30, eh hindi naman talaga matatanggal yan. As you said, he has the PNP and FAP under his charms. So why worry? Hindi naman mangyayari yan. He has the support of the Filipino people.

Imagine waiting for SOCO to clear everything up quickly so my kids won't see 3 dead people in front of our house.

Why just focus on the PSEI? Have you seen how the inflation rate continue to trend upwards? There should be a stronger economic policy from this government. Gloria prepared a good foundation for our economy, PNoy reaped the benefits, but now it's starting to crumble again. We cannot be just "I hate drugs", it's getting old,we have to be more than that.
I live few KM from the famous shabu talipapa. To tell you honestly hindi ito bago. Exaggerated itong EJK issue that is the point.

Now on the economic agenda wala din shortcut. You just mentioned two past administration. I agree with you that this should be given more importance kesa sa BS War on Drugs.

How's the shabu talipapa in your area after the start of the "war on drugs"?

So let's get one thing straight. Galit ka din ba na hindi nakikita ni psycho na walang wenta yung war on drugs niya? Like you said, above, it's nothing new -- you're implying killing addicts does not work, you even said BS yung war on drugs niya. So hindi ka agree sa kanya pagdating diyan?

The scary part is when violence become so common and we are used to seeing and experiencing it everyday, it starts to become the new normal. Everyone loses their humanity. This is not something I wish would happen to our society.

You have to understand, a lot of people in this thread are just frustrated with your president's greatest hits. It is true we can't fault him for everything. Some of his "accomplishments" should be noticed too. But there are just so many more negatives about this administration that poking fun at him sometimes somehow makes the day bearable.

A young relative of my wife was dragged out of their house in the street in broad daylight. Beaten black and blue both by cops in uniform and civvies. In front of a nephew who was 7 years old. The kid was so stressed that he shook uncontrollably for the rest of the day and couldn't eat for days. As they were about to load this relative into their unmarked car, more relatives arrived and formed a human barrier. It was only when they noticed a lot of people were taking videos that they stopped. No warrant. No drug activity. The boy was just sweeping their yard when it happened. Turns out their neighbor was the real target. I shudder to think what would have been the outcome had they successfully abducted him.

I think the movements in the last 6 months in the PSEI and Peso Dollar rate have a lot more to do with the Fed and Trump than du30. Still, it is hard to take this president seriously when the cornerstone of its administration is that bogus war on drugs. We know it is brutal, inhumane and ineffective. The big fish drug lords (who are the ones who should be caught anyway) are given free passes. Who are they fooling? The majority apparently.

On foreign policy one can imagine how inviting a country who invaded and now practically owns most of our Western EEZ to make a port call with one of its destroyers might be a bad idea. Maybe giving them a free pass to get close enough to map whatever features in our territory they may not have surveyed yet is a bad idea?

Now they are talking about the possibility of drafting a VFA for holding military exercises with the invaders. What exactly is the purpose behind this idea? To scare away those nasty Americans and Europeans from talking trash about our president? Maybe they can teach us how to protect us from ourselves.

On the economy, the new proposed taxes are inflationary and regressive. There is much to be lost and little to be gained from the new income tax proposal. The majority of the tax base is in the lower brackets. A big chunk of revenue will be lost there. In the top brackets not much will be gained (if at all) as people from that bracket are few and far between and experts in tax avoidance (not evasion).

They want to slap around 10-15% (based on current fuel prices) excise tax on fuel. This will make transportation costs go up, cost of doing business go up and consequently, prices to go up. Everybody knows when prices go up, sales go down and they might actually get less net revenue. And we will end up with a much lower growth rate. The poor will be the ones who suffer the most as they have the least spending power.

One may argue that the tax cuts for the lower brackets will somehow neutralize this by increasing their net take home pay, which should in theory also increase their spending power. Let's take that at face value. That is also based on the assumption that everybody pays taxes. Well how about the informal sector who don't pay any tax? How will this tax relief help them? How about the farmers, fishermen, magtatahos, labanderas, tinderas, kasambahays, PUJ drivers, bus drivers, konduktors, taxi drivers? How will they cope with the price increases? 4Ps again?

They want to scuttle the luxury car industry with exorbitant excise tax. This has loony left written all over it. If the poor can't have nice cars, why should the rich? The best we can expect with this measure from this industry is a regression in sales and tax collection. Most probably the gray market will come back in full force, further subtracting from possible revenue opportunity. Just so this admin can appear "pro-poor".

Even if revenue did increase to their dream target trillion pesos earmarked for "The golden age of infrastructure", I leave this excerpt from Autoindustriya's Inside Man explaining why it is futile to do so.

    From: http://www.autoindustriya.com/inside...e-reality.html

Here's the rub; the vetting and approval

Granted the government gets its trillion Pesos over the next 5 years, Sec. Ben Diokno will be the first to tell you that the line departments do not have the capacity to process, evaluate and bid that many projects. Even if you triple the staffing and IT, you still end up with projects falling in line to be evaluated and approved by the NEDA-ICC. It is chaired by the President and given if PRRD wants to chair a NEDA ICC (Investment Coordination Committee) meeting once or even twice a month. It is just systemically impossible.

    Embarrassing wrongful pursuit

Say what we want about the intellectual lightweights, little minds and second stringers running the Budget, NEDA and Finance portfolios of the PNoy Cabinet. At least they recognized the good policies left behind by GMA, applied “laissez faire” since it ain't broke, resulting in the record economic growth for 6 consecutive years. Mind you this was achieved with only a mild increase in sin taxes. It would be downright embarrassing if the much vaunted PRRD economic team throttles this record growth, induces economic pain particularly to the poor who felt “excluded” by the PNoy era's selective growth, all for the wrongful, greedy, unrealistic and impatient pursuit of this “1 trillion Pesos” of infrastructure by 2022.
Begs the question: What are they going to do with all that money?

I got your point bro. Parang religion lang ang politics neverending debate. Good to know you can still have a healthy conversation with some people in this thread.

The war on drugs is a disaster, when you hear about it from the frontlines.

A high school friend who works with indigents is furious that one of the mothers she is helping got arrested with planted evidence.

There are those na "pinagtripan"... whose names got on the list because they made the wrong enemies. Or who were arrested or even killed due to mistaken identity. Even the President himself has cast doubt on his own "lists".

Then there are the hulidap victims. The extortion victims rotting in secret cells... and those that aren't in secret cells, but who are victims of extortion anyway.

A war cannot be waged unless you can trust your lieutenants. How many of those crooked cops who've been caught red-handed have been convicted? How many have faced anything more than a suspension or reassignment?

How can we have confidence in the war when Duterte has promised to pardon CIDG operatives which the NBI and the Senate have tagged as having performed a rubout to silence a key witness against other druglords? (Espinosa).

The TWOD is a farce, dressed up prettily for the believers. It will be interesting to see what an external audit reveals about the real status of "surrenderees" and lower crime statistics. The Aquino administration struggled with dishonest reporting in the PNP... and it was only by reforming it in 2014 that the true state of crime in the country became apparent (the systemic changes caused the "epidemic" of crimes before the elections).

Does nobody wonder if the status quo on under-reporting for pogi points has returned?

The military is not exactly 100% behind Duterte... though having the generals' favorite patrona Gloria in your corner helps...

They're not happy about the NPA.

    They're not happy about China.

They're not quite on board with the war on drugs, no matter how many times Duterte courts them and visits them and makes them wait hours upon hours to hear his long tirades about things that have nothing to do with their job.

They just don't see any benefit in staging a coup.

I think we're all a little tired of regime change at this point.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
