Tito Sotto trending on Twitter. For all the wrong reasons.

Let's see how good people's memories are in the next election.

Buti nalang that treehugger got rejected

Billions of pesos of investment would have evaporated

Shareholders, bondholders, banks, anyone with exposure to the mining sector would have suffered massive losses

    nope

what i care about are the consequences if mining companies are shut down

they will default on their debt

so their creditors/bondholders/suppliers won't get paid

it could be a bank i have money in

it could be a mutual fund or insurance company i have money in

it could be suppliers who owe me money (kung hindi sila maka-collection, di ako maka-collection)

    get it?

    it's business dude

    not politics, not ideology

oligarchs have the capacity to take losses

besides, they're using OTM (other people's money)

you think they use their own money for business?

they borrow money from banks, they sell shares, they issue bonds

if they suffer losses it's the share prices that fall (attention stock investors)

if they suffer losses they can default on their debt (attention bondholders and banks)

Problem with Gina is, she is seen as someone who will take down the mining industry instead of regulating it. And eventually she probably will. You just don't declare yourself to be anti mining in public and expect to get appointed to the department that regulates it. Situation is somewhat similar to the tobacco industry. We all know it is bad for the majority, but shut it down immediately and you will see a lot of people lose their jobs, stock prices fall, etc. Best to find a middle ground where you can gradually get environmental protection in place while ensuring investors will not suffer unforeseen losses. Not doing so would make us look volatile, and nobody will invest here anymore. We have been lagging in terms of foreign investment compared to our neighbors. We don't need another reason for people to take their money elsewhere.

now, if you're poor as a rat, you got nothing to lose if the whole system crashes

people in the lowest 2 socioeconomic classes don't have money in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or even bank deposits

they'd love to see the whole system crash just to watch the higher classes lose everything

i understand where all this hatred towards jologs is coming from

tsikot people are middle to upper class

nobody here wants to see the system crash

    Op kors.

Better for mother nature to lose. Better for mother nature to go down on its knees, crumble, and die. Die bitch.

Who cares about mother nature anyway in this millenial era? Who cares about the future? The present is the most important time. It is the only time that matters.

Greed rules. Greed wins. Greed is Good!!!!! Greed=oligarchs and their interests. Can't have enough of Greed. Oh yeah.

And que horror it would be if malugi ang mga oligarchs. Wawa naman mga oligarchs kung maghihirap sila di ba? Can you imagine banking oligarchs taking the MRT? Shudder.

Protect the system at all costs, kahit morally wrong to do so, it's legal naman eh.

So there. YEAH!!!! Greed, greed, greed ...... Satan's favorite son.

Yung kinikita sa mining eh kulang pa bayad sa destruction na it will take decades, century to correct. And hindi pa sure if the correction will bring back the same nung undamage pa.

Sinira biodiversity.....Nawalan ng bahay ang ibon...insecto......paniki....bubuyog....Yung cycle of life nahault....

Napansin ko si gina lopez may pag ka aleng-aleng pero yan ang bagay humawak sa denr. May bahyag....

Ang maganda gawin presdu eh sya na humawak ng denr tapos gawin undersecretary si gina. Oh di ba hindi na kailangan confirmation confirmation..... hahahahahah

Pres. Duterte: Totoo 'yan. Sinabi ko 'yan "I will kill you". But for God's sake, I did not kill anybody. I have never killed anybody.

Why are there oligarchs in the first place? Who voted for the politicians who are protecting them?
