It's critical to zone out the noise from the professional trolls. Obviously there's no good that will come out of arguing with paid hacks. What's dangerous is that they send the impression to real people that their opinion is widely accepted even if it isn't, until so many people are convinced that it is.

But whenever I talk to Duterte supporters offline and face to face, the discussion is always more productive without derogatory insults and divisiveness. They too are able to tell the fake news from the real ones, and they abhor senseless sensationalist propagandists like Mocha Uson as well.

Remember, most of these "Dutertards" are actually real people who all just want a better country. Different backgrounds (especially education) means that they will process the same events differently from others. Sometimes the logic is screwed up, but calling them retards won't fix that.

In the end, political analysts and strategists need to get out of their effin' self-reinforced bubbles and go out and talk to the people.

I saw a lot of this pro-Marcos thing coming just form a few sorties out into the provinces. Imagine how much more effective your anti-Marcos campaign would be if you addressed these people's concerns rather than hammering them with "Martial Law Bad"... they don't know dip about Martial Law. It never hurt them.

And one common factor between Duterte and Trump: These people are not dumb millenials. They're old. Old enough to remember Marcos. They aren't savvy enough to understand the political dynamics and economic issues that caused the collapse post-Marcos. They just remember Marcos=Good, Post-Marcos=Bad.

That said, I know people who DO cheer on EJKs and the OBOSEN rhetoric, and I constantly have to restrain the urge to unfriend... :/

If i am to believe this news, there is no meaning into it. The writ can only be issued by the court and no other thus the president has no business on it. What the president can do under his power is to suspend the "PRIVILAGE" of writ... not merely the writ of habeas corpus.
