One article mentioned Silvestre Bello III, the negotiator with the CPP. Let's wait for confirmation

I think this is a good thing. I'd rather not have communist hardliners in the DOLE, where they can do the most damage.

Someone progressive and sensitive to the needs of workers, but with a more realistic understanding of business, that would be optimal.

I agree. Although I'm more curious how Digong will impose that no contractualization policy. It's a big Left agenda.

For the appointments it seems everything is fluid until June 30. I don't know if Digong is really just testing the waters by floating names around.

    Abangan.

Good news for Filipino peoples. After asking his cabinet to shed luxury fleet, Duterte has now nominated Art Tugade as the new Chief of DOTC to regulate strict traffic regulations. Duterte nominates Tugade as Chief of DOTC – Strict Traffic Rules Coming Soon | CarBay With a sudden hike in the death toll due to road accidents, the new president has asked the public to follow the speed limit of 60 kmph along EDSA. In this series, to implement the orders, Duterte has asked the traffic regulating authorities to take it seriously and fine the road-rashing drivers with a heavy penalty or punishment.

noynoy has finally signed into law the creation of the dept of information and communications technology (ditc).

ABS-CBN News Channel on Twitter: "JUST IN: Pres. Aquino signs into law the creation of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)."

sino kaya ang nasa shortlist ni digong para mamuno dyan?

I think the question is how many will lose their contractual jobs as a result. Banning contractualization won't guarantee jobs or job security.

This will be a very contentious move by Digong, as is federalism and others. I wonder if he can handle them all.

On another note, conflict of interest rears it's ugly head, at sa Davao pa man din

"Meanwhile, the elevation of Mark Villar from Las Pinas congressman to public works and highways secretary should also help speed up the regulatory approvals for the 44.6-kilometer bypass circumferential road from Toril, Davao City to Panabo, Davao del Norte.

The new highway cuts through Vista Land's planned 170-hectare township project in Toril, a DPWH project that should boost Vista Land's revenue streams in the years ahead just as Daang Hari did for the Alabang-Las Pinas corridor."

I am more than willing to give PE Duterte the benefit of the doubt. But seeing news items such as this, I don't understand what's he trying to achieve.

Exactly. What would happen to the next batch of contractual workers? This should be looked into very seriously. It might create a bigger problem than the one it's trying to solve. I hope Mr. Duterte knows what's he's doing.

For good measure, how about increasing SSS pension to 4000 PHP?

Sa totoo lang,- nakaka-60KPH ba kayo sa EDSA on a regular day?....
