China’s Disinformation Campaign in the Philippines – The Diplomat

China’s embrace of foreign influence operations marks an important evolution in its cyber statecraft. While Beijing has long embraced cyber espionage in particular as a central facet of its national security, it has historically struggled with information warfare. Yet a reassessment appears to be under way in Beijing. After witnessing Russia’s successful use of information operations, particularly in election interference, China has made a concerted effort to learn Russian disinformation tactics and adapt them to its own interests.

4 million chinese nationals have entered the Philippines since 2017, bigger then the population size of quezon city

The number of Chinese nationals who have entered the country since 2017 has surpassed the total population of Quezon City, Senator Risa Hontiveros pointed out on Tuesday.
This, as her Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality resumed its investigation into the so-called “pastillas” scam facilitating the seamless entry of Chinese nationals into Philippine borders in exchange for a P10,000-fee.

Insane! Their anti-filipino townships have already been shown on tv. And yet our government turns a blindeye on them.

find them! hunt them down and deport them!
    heh heh.

    i was reading manchester's macarthur.
he believed at that time, that in preparation for their expansionist plans, the japanese had sent spies to the philippines, disguised as shoe shine boys and other costumes of non-suspicion..

    doug.
    an old sergeant once said,
"i never met a man as vain as arthur macarthur... until i met the son!"

Obviously DOLE is turning a blind eye on this. Appointee ni PDuts ang secretary eh. So it's with PDuts blessing and as Uls said before, part ng deal with Chinese companies that yan kaya contra mga hindi ka-alyansa ng administration. Alam na nila mangyayari eh.

Maybe some of those extra interest goes back. Hehe.

"During the joint membership meeting of the Makati Business Club and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto M. Pernia said China charges the loans with an interest rate of 2 to 3 percent, while Japan’s impose interest of only 0.25 to 0.75 percent.

“We cannot get all the loans from the ODA (official development assistance) of Japan. They have to give to other countries as well… Between 2- and 3-percent interest rate is still much better than commercial (loans),” he told reporters."

Japan has better rates for loans, but PH needs China, too to speed up infra projects: Pernia

Complete baloney if you ask me. Japan didn't decline any of our loans before pa naman eh. Hehe. Alam naman kasi nila na hindi tayo magdedefault. So low risk magpa-utang sa atin. Plus EU and US alam ko mas mababa din rate. All without the side or extra arrangements.

Haaaay
