Yeah oo nga doc. I’ve been saying that sana pwede lang mag substitute pag patay na. Let’s see kung gaano sila ka loyal maging place holder. But Conelec sadly has no teeth nor balls to go after these big names. Hope whoever wins this election, amends this & would put stricter requirements for being our country’s president.

If the original candidate dies or is disqualified, the substitute can file their COC from November 16, 2021, up to midday of May 9, 2022 (election day), provided the substitute and the original candidate have the same surname. Substitutes cannot run in case of withdrawals during this period.

Midday of election day is also the deadline for substituting party-list nominees by reason of death or incapacity.

- Sec. 77 of Batas Pambansa Blg. 881 as amended by RA 9006 of which states;
"Section 12. Substitution of Candidates. – In case of valid substitutions after the official ballots have been printed, the votes cast for the substituted candidates shall be considered as stray votes but shall not invalidate the whole ballot. For this purpose, the official ballots shall provide spaces where the voters may write the name of the substitute candidates if they are voting for the latter: Provided, however, That if the substitute candidate of the same family name, this provision shall not apply."

Isang Marcos na lang pwede pumalit kay BBM after Monday. hehe, baka si Francis Leo?

We will never know. They are dictated by how the voters are reacting to their initial "unofficial" campaign sorties imho. Plus the fact that some like BBM and Manny decided not to withdraw or join forces kasi with the admin. PGMA had a hand in this all along though.

Talagang preservation of self-interest for past misdeeds. Ayaw nila makabalik ang "dilawan" kuno pero sila-sila hindi makadecide at magkasundo kung sino Pres at VP.

Re DQ case of BBM, the COMELEC and the SC (it will reach the SC for sure) might just wait it out. If BBM wins, no problem, they can find an excuse that CA did not hand a prison term anyway. If BBM loses, much better, moot and acedemic na ang legal issue. Though they can choose to answer (capable of repitition while evading review princple) or just let it be a hanging question.
