Back in the day of sail, the wind is blowing from the stern/tail of the boat. So the ship's toilet/loo is at the bow or front, hence called the "head". Otherwise everyone would know if someone was using it. Also the waves produced by the bow would self-clean the head (which was open straight to the sea) and sometimes the bottoms of those using it.

Because he still thinks like a Mayor. There was a time I get mad at his jokes, lies & rants. Now, I find it amusing because no one laughs at his jokes anymore, no one believes his announcements because they’re most likely half truths & his rants are ramblings of an old man. Exactly! I have a Dutertard/Trumptard Uncle that we cut ties with partly because of that. We can't stand him and his political beliefs.
