Just wait till the frame rusts through...

Jeeps are made with relatively simple ladder frames that are locally assembled. Buying a newer ladder frame from the Japanese costs... a lot. Buying an Isuzu ladder and drivetrain for a Jeepney sized vehicle would cost around 500-600k combined, already. Then you build a body, put on wheels, tires, battery, etcetera. Do you think a local manufacturer can assemble something like that and sell it profitably? When Isuzu could build something similar and sell it for 600k, already?

Buying a frame and an engine brand new from a manufacturer costs a shedload of money. The only way you can make a 600k Jeepney using Japanese engines and frames is by entering a production agreement and committing to buying thousands of units, to get the price down. And you'll want to stamp the bodies out at that point. It's impossible to cost-effectively build the bodies by hand in those numbers. You'll need too much factory floor space and too many workers. This means committing to building at least 20-40,000 units.

Think any local jeepney maker can sell 10,000 units a year?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

all those theoretical stuff to improve jeepneys...

if those things are applicable they would have been applied already

the fact that jeepneys are still the way they are is coz ideas to improve jeepneys are NOT APPLICABLE coz of economic constraints
