    Just my own .02 cents.

The "SCAB" has been on cars since way back early 80's days of drag (napapaghalataan edad ko nito ah?). it was THE exhaust system of choice. The reason, shorter pipe runs which delivers the engine's oomph for short distances. Kaya very ideal use for drag racing. Had it installed in my lancer '78 (nuon yun when I still had the car and had it mod for drag use). Pero twas a bitch for long drives. One time I had trip to Baguio, di makatulog pasahero ko sa ingay, tapos walang powerband along the 110+ kph runs. you just have to floor the accelerator to feel the speed climbing up oh so slowly.

That time, di pa uso turbo. Those that had it were the super rich. But hey, any fully setup dragster wanted to race a turbo guy, kasi by the time nagkick in yung turbo, around 1.5 car lengths na layo nung isa, malapit na sa finish line. Kaya that time turbo races were time races. Like SLEX tollgate to tollgate. (Nichols to Calamba). Sa mga non-turbo, respectable na yung 15 mins.

    Setup ko that time was:
Engine = 4G33, big bore, high compression pistons, oversize piston rings (kinikil para maliit lang clearance). dual valve springs (you secondary galing sa toyota)
2 Weber 40 side draft, stock jets, with torotot, no air filters.
    CAM 2 racing cams
Port and polished exhaust and intake manifolds.
    4:1 nodalos exhaust (scab).
    Short throw 4 speed transmission.

pero lakas lumamon ng gas. 7 km/ltr.

Sorry for ranting on and on, was just reliving history. hahahaha!

wow. its been months since i last logged on here. anyway, bago maging off-topic to...
any info regarding modding a 95 civic hatchback? naka IHE na, (KNN open air,Freemuff 4-2-1 headers, 2" piping, Freemuff freeflow muffler) at high-tension wire. stock lang ang engine, pinaganda ko lang ang looks. although ayoko na galawin ang performance, any ideas about ignition controllers/system upgrade? san napapagawa to? what brands? im focusing more on in-car entertainment e, sound setup at interior mods...pero it wouldnt hurt na magdagdag ng konti right?

medyo limited potential ang 1.2L stock engine ng hatchback eh. maybe you can go with an engine swap like a D16 or D15b

magastos na yun sa fuel bossing. saka i prefer stock engines. dami hassle sa engine swap, like registration at sunod sunod na problem. yoko naman mangarera e. for looks lang at optimum performance na kaya ng engine. saka entertainment car. hehe

ok, but just remember, power is directly proportional to fuel consumption. you cant have the best of both worlds.

i agree... IMO, hindi ka naman magiging interested sa car modding if ang habol mo mainly is fuel economy. power, looks and style are the main benefits of modding if done correctly.

There are quite a few dynos here. Autoplus (EDSA Greenhills, near Barrio Fiesta and Kamayan) has one, but tuning time is expensive. Best advice? Get everything else worked out first, then buy an E-Manage or an SMT6 programmable, then get it done there after you're sure your setup is okay.

There's a slightly cheaper one in the south, at Creativespeed near BF Resort, Alabang-Zapote road, but I'm not sure how accurate ( ) their dyno is.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Dyno is not only for horsepower reading, its a tuning tool. The purpose of a dyno is to simulate real world conditions to help tuner. That's why tuning is expensive,I don't mind if it's expensive as long as the tuner knows what his doing and very knowledgeable.I don't wanna have a blown engine
