I told him to go and change oil and filter but do not change brake fluid and coolant as it was last replaced by them last Sept 2005. Just top up if needed. He claims that according to BMW Phil, it needs to be replaced yearly bec of our climate and road conditions. Is this true or BS? Personally I think yearly change of coolant and brake fluid is to short, specially with dealer prices. What is your opinon?

Also told him not to replace parts and fluids without getting go signal from me.
me and our company mechanic changed all of those ourselves in my e36. very easy

we also maintain the a/c system and replace a/c parts ourselves, average difficulty lang

Tanggal dash pa ba kapag nagpapalit ng evaporator? Hindi naman ako allergic sa tanggal dash. Ganun din ang MB100 at Volvo. hehehe.

    Just wondering.

yup. nung evap replacement, tanggal whole dash, medyo matrabaho lang part na yun. buti nalang may pollen filter ang a/c system nito or else yari sa evap cleaning lagi tanggal dash. if expansion valve lang, remove glove box lang then pwede na.

tama ka dyan sir ok yung protection ng pollen filter.kaya lang mahal naman maintainance ng bimmer dyan sa atin.dito sa uk. uk brand na disc pads mataas na 3000 pesos then ang semi synthetic oil 1400 5liters,mobil1 520 per liter. target time ng 40k service mga 2hrs lang.pero siguro dahil sa tatak bmw. he.he.he yes may pang measure ng coolant or antifreeze solution.and may contamination test din para sa brake fluid.well may point din tiga BMW casa but then kung tapos na compulsary service to avail warranty.just bring it to your trusted technician and down load mo service sheet from internet, just follow it ,sabi mga nila its not rocket science.............ty

Kabibili ko lang ng E46 rear pads ... £16.44 (about P1,550) sa Euro Car Parts.

Depends on age. W123 and W124 are painless to maintain. Madaming replacement and surplus parts na.

Pero parang mas maraming third party Mercedes Benz service centers.

Thats why I call them stealership. Anyway he belives that the stealership knows best. I'll just try to minimize the damage. Hopefully I'll be able to convince him otherwise next time. Although more often than not, dealer maintained cars have a higher resale value compared to those serviced by independent shops.
