What does the 40,000km service call for? Check the manual.

My dad's colleague used to have his BMW serviced sa gas station. But he buys the oil filter from the dealer and bribes someone to reset the computer and 'update' the casa record afterwards.

what year is it? bimmers normally need different servicing depending on the time interval and not so much the km reading.

btw, motul just released a bmw specific oil LL-01 in manila in case you're interested.

The Motul oil change promo - does it include cars like the new BMW MINI Cooper using the new LL oil?

Is that price for a typical 4-cylinder car or 6-cylinder BMWs?

the promo is the price for 4 liters of motul htec full syn oil and an oil filter for most japanese sedans. the ll-01 is much more expensive and is not covered by the promo.

we just used the ll01 on a 523i last friday and it used up approx 6.5 liters of the oil. total bill for that was just shy of 6k pesos if i'm not mistaken.

40,000 km service ... sariwa pa

Tignan mo na lang sa indicator kung ano'ng kailangan, o di kaya sa service booklet. Alternate lang yang Oil Service, Inspection I, Oil Service, Inspection II ... then repeat the cycle again.

    Oil Service = Ouch
    Inspection I = Huhuhu
    Inspection II = Waaaaaaaah!

Yan ang pakiramdam ko tuwing magbabayad na.

Thats why I call them stealership. Anyway he belives that the stealership knows best. I'll just try to minimize the damage. Hopefully I'll be able to convince him otherwise next time. Although more often than not, dealer maintained cars have a higher resale value compared to those serviced by independent shops.

Not always the case, vehicle condition itself still plays a major role.

Dealer service records can also be doctored if you know the right people.

Got the car back from Autohaus. They suggested some repairs that are not critical but expensive. Told them not to do it. Where can I have these fixed:

    1. engine noise from alternator mechanical tensioner
    2. engine noise from alternator deflection pulley
    3. engine noise from a/c mechanical ensioner
    4. suspension noise from rear guide support left and right
    5. suspension noise from control arm bushing

Yung 1,2 and 3 pulley kaya ito o bearing?
4 and 5 pwede kaya kay Cruven?

from EDSA cubao its just a few meters away. If you see the burger machine stand on your right that's the shop behind it. look above and you'll see the blue signage.

Autovec's numbers are: 725-6914, 726-2978. Look for Werner Reimer, 0920-9268100.
Autovec's address is 479-A E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave., Cubao, Q.C.

Di ko pa natry sa autovecs at autotechnika. May thread about autotechnika sa goon squad. Although it seems that they have solved the problem and tsikoters are happy with them.

Dati sa top gear kami nagpapaservice. Pero nung huli di na maganda ang nangyayari. As in charge nila kami for 8 liters of oil eh 4.5 liters ang laman ng van ko. They replaced rear brake pads, after 10,000 kms they want to change it again. Our other car, they replaced the drive belts, around 3 months later may tama na ulit.

    You can also try Speedyfix.
