Hi, That is exactly what Rene said. High octane gas would have higher carbon build up sa EGR so using lower octane gas is better.

What I will do is use high octane gas and just regularly clean the EGR, valve body and add some fuel injector cleaner occassionally.

Yun lang nga, there will come a time na di na malilinis ang EGR and eventually masisira ito to the tune of P13,000!!!

hi edl100. I guess the 93 octane suggestion will be ok kung mostly city driving. pero sa highway it makes a difference.

baka you can post a how to clean the EGR and oxygen sensor. I saw elerick do it once, dapat pala nagpaturo ako

Ma-rerepair yan. Try to go to Fronte in Banawe or call them up. Baka magawan ng paraan yan or baka makahanap sila ng parts coming from some korean car or van.

may mechanic pupunta mamaya to check on my alternator. yoko i-byahe kc balak ko sa rey's electrical in 15th ave sa cubao. was there yesterday and had a chat with a guy there and told him about my problem, sabi nila they do opels too, at meron daw sila special tools. pero iba na yung may alam talaga sa opel, as in from the casa. will keep you guys posted for future referrence din po.

hi all.

finally brought my car to fronte for the hub bearing replacement.

arrived a little past 9 and i was their first customer for the day so mabilis naayos. mga 12 nakaalis na ako.

I would've finished earlier pero ni recommend nung gumawa [his name is joey] na ipa reface ko yung brake discs kasi marami na canal. so they brought it to nearby machine shop. bumili din ng sandpaper para linisin yung brake pads. nilagyan nila ng canal yung brake pad para daw di na masyado maipit yung dumi which is causing the disc to be bad.

caloystermx5, nakita ko si pecto!! kamukha talaga!!

wheel hubs cost P9500 x 2 = P19,000, labor = P1,000, disc refacing x 2 = P1,200, sandpaper P20.

am satisfied with the work. tsaka si jun ok kausap. would definitely go back there kahit medyo malayo from our house.

help guys, meron na ba dito nagpa align? my car is pulling to the right. di ko alam kung sinong shop may specs for astra

i saw from another forum that cruven or zee ok daw pagdating sa suspension, di ko lang alam kung nag align sila. you can also try bridgestone sa fort, haven't had anything done by them pero mukhang ok yung place, they even have nitrogen for the tires (stable air temp in tire even at high speed daw).

btw, yung boy electrician ng fronte is not an employee of theirs, he hangs around their shop and does jobs there (the extent of his electrician knowledge though am not sure as he just repaired my rear power window) so maybe that's the reason di sinabi ng fronte, but accdg to the people there magaling daw, fyi. siguro pag napadaan ka dun you can talk to him directly? just ask around, naka tayo usually yun dun, tambay hehe!

only one hub was bad but i changed both sides na, usually kasi the other side will give up soon anyway.

bridgestone is closest to me, and they said they have specs for astra. i'll go there soon.

yep, i can vouch on this too..plus di sila tag sumingil at mababait kausap tao dun..natakot lang ako i-byahe astra ko kasi busted alternator, baka itirik ako.

sir, rey's electrical is along 15th ave in cubao, nasa left side sila (rey villa). ako i take ermin garcia coming from tandang sora, then turn right na sa 15th ave since one-way, or else overshoot ka pag aurora blvd, unless you know the streets from aurora blvd to 15th ave.

What is the year model of your Opel and the Mileage??

I feel ang taas na ng mileage ko for a 2001 model at 49,500kms. Daily driven na kasi since I sold my other car. I also think mahirap mag-benta ng car pag mataas ang mileage. Specially for an Opel, baka sobrang mura ko na mabenta and itago ko nalang yung car hanggang mabulok.
What is a reasonable mileage for a used car??
