    Hi,
To the Opel guys. The EB will now be at the FORT. MC Home Depot on Saturday. 4:30pm onwards till night.

There is a car show there and most car clubs will be there too. So try to be there so you can also meet the guys from other car forums.

Text me at 0919-8336624 if you are already at the FORT on Saturday so we can all get together.

hi guys! bagong member lang ako. i came upon this group while researching for the problem of my Opel Astra wagon 2000 model.

baka naman matulungan nyo ako sa problema: umilaw kasi iyong warning light sa dashboard (aircon cooling system). at the same time, nawalan ng lamig ang aircon at iyong dalawang fan sa makina (engine and aircon), naka fulltime on na. hindi na nag automatic on/off. dinala ko sa casa, sabi nag safety mode na daw ang emu kaya naka fulltime on ang fan. kailangan daw palitan ang cooling system including the compressor sa humahagupit na presyong P108K!!!! Syempre, hindi naman ako sira para magbayad agad ng ganoon so pull=out ko sasakyan. Okay daw ang compressor and walang bara. Ang sagot sakin, hindi daw pwede kasi dapat daw mapalamig muna ang aircon bago palitan ang module and not the other way around kasi kelangan daw programming noon,etc..

    to guguly:

Don't be scared yet. That casa you went to is crazy.

If the aircon specialist bypassed the electricals and na-paandar yung compressor directly sa battery, then it shows na OK yung compressor.

Just bring the car to a car shop with an OBDII computer. It will tell what part is broken. usually just sensors. Evaporator temperature sensor, refrigerant pressure sensors etc... madaming sensor ang BEHR designed aircon similar to the one used by Mercedes Benz.

Sa computerized system kasi, di ka pwedeng manghula ng sira. it directly tells you what component or part is defective.

E pag sa casa mo dinala yan. Papalitan talaga ang buong A/C mo kahit di naman sira ang parts such as the compressor, blower, etc.... Of course, pera sa kanila yan.

I'll update you. I'll ask my mechanic.

What shop/s do you recommend with this kind of diagnostic computer? wala ba nito sa GM o meron sila but they prefer not to use it para palit lahat ng pyesa agad?

Anyway, thanks a lot! I'll really appreciate the help.

    Hi,

Meron sa GM casa nito. I think they ask around P800 para isalang sa computer and to know specifically what part is broken. I think you have to demand that this procedure be done first before they assume to replace everything.

This is a sample of one of the obdII readers. It just connects to your car going to your laptop.

With this device, you can see the trouble codes, replace the defective sensors or part and after that, you can clear and reset the ECU. Supposedly, the A/C should run normally now.

A cheap and maybe an effective way is to also remove the connections going to the battery overnight and maybe clear the ECU's memory. Also, after around 20-30 cycles, nag re-set ang ECU by itself. This usually happens to my OPEL's CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!!. nabubura naman after a few days of constant ON and OFF of the KEY.

    Help!!

Has anyone experienced a "palyado" engine?? Yung parang ma-mamatay pag naka idle and pag-accelerate.

I replaced the Fuel Filter and found a few powder debris, but it still runs the same with the new filter.

Hmmm. ano pa kaya?? spark plugs?

I replaced the spark plugs. OPEL OEM at P275 each. PROBLEM SOLVED. The cars runs smoothly now.

    Yun lang pala.

BTW, the fuel filter cost P500 only. Made in Italy Replacement.
GM OEM cost P850. Syempre, yung P500 ang binili ko since pareho lang naman.

Labor cost: P0.00 ako kasi ang gumawa.

no i didn't, kailangan ba? di naman ako sinabihan na kailangan magpa align, but personally i don't think it's necessary.

Hi, The plugs were I think a year old only. Wala pang 40,000km for sure, but the car is used everyday for short distances only.

    hi,
I bought the fuel filter in Thunder and the spark plugs at GM Q.A.

Regarding the EGR valve. Does it look like this??

Did you clean the egr valve by yourself or had it done by a mechanic??

Parang natatakot akong pakialaman ito as of now since mahal ang egr valve pag masira ko.

    Hmmm.

Pano linisin yung egr valve?? parang sealed kasi ito.

I think the EGR valve cost around P13,000.

Hi, I have an engine knock problem now since I used regular unleaded gasoline.

I used to put in Petron XCS but Rene said to use regular unleaded gas. Now, I feel there is no power and that idling is very low and sometimes namamatay pa.

    What gas do you use??
