Still far far away. Nissan will have to utilize the mitsu plant in thailand to produce this. Its going against the new breed by 2019/20.

Isn't the Navara already produced in Thailand?

I think it will get the 4N15 Mivec engine from Mitsu. If Nissan Ph does offer this...ano na kaya mangyayari sa Xtrail

The actual unit should be more imposing, especially the rear than the current rendered photo in the article.

I dunno bro. Most likely it will be the same engine/tranny as the D23 Navara. No benefit to switching to Mitsu's powertrain I would think.

X-trail's smart mobility aids are nice but they put it only in the 4x4. FC will still be the #1 turn off for most buyers. Pity because the 4x2 gives decent FC for a 2.0.

The Xtrail really needs diesel power hehe.

I'm still hoping the rear is gonna be Qashqai-like. ☺

Yup. But it will be the newest offering post excise tax hike so that will help I suppose. With the p4ice bracket it is competing in, the increase is anywhere between 100k-200k+. Manageable still.

If the interior is anything like the Navara it will sell. But the 2nd row seats have to be spot on. Given the Navara's cabin size, I have a good feeling the interior will be more spacious than the Montero.
