May hugot ah. Why so mad at the observation re: ride quality? 😀

Not disputing that the Toyota may be more durable, but Toyota also had its teething issues with its D4d before, in the 1st gen Innova and Fort.

The first batch of current gen Forts also had tranny issues. Toyota says it is a software issue only but with them replacing transmissions we can conclude that the "software issue" has also damaged the hardware.

Good thing about Toyota is they own up to their issues. And do it in a timely manner.

The Toyota Hilux has serious problem...it was there in 2007 and is still there in the Hilux 2016

Guy's son bought EL 7AT and was making their DP. It is quite amusing, thought he was loyal to the brand (Toyota) and should look for the Hi-Lux.
I have a 2014 Fortuner and a 2015 EL Calibre, and I can definitely confirm the ride of the Nav is waaaay better than the fort. If i don't have a lot of passengers with me I always use the Nav for long trips.

Mostly a question of how well you maintain your cars. No brand is without its own set of problems. The Toyota D4D engines had its share of birth pains, so with the jerky tranny issue on the new forts (still not fully resolved or identified afaik).

I purchased the EL 7AT Calibre variant, and I'm wondering if we have a topic on the recommended accessories to buy? Did a quick search but came up with nothing. I'm specifically looking for bed covers.
I have the bakflip VP tri-fold cover on my Nav. Bought it from Derrick Uy/Tonneau Republic. search mo nalang sa FB.

Just how comfortable is the NP300 during long drives, especially at the back seats? I've compared all pickups and it seems that the Navara and Strada are the most spacious. The Hilux Revo's legroom became shorter than the Vigo's (I own one), so it's basically a turn-off, plus its very stiff ride.

Anyway, I just noticed that the back seat of the Navara is quite short (compared to all others), and some say that your thighs near the knees tend to be elevated (depends of course of how long your legs are) when you're seated at the back. But seriously is it bothersome, especially on long rides?

Can't really say since i'm always the one driving, but haven't had any complaints from rear passengers so far. And I drive with the driver's seat fully retracted. Slightly knees up nga, but that's true for all the Japanese pickups i've ridden.

Im planning to sell my 16yr old hilux sr5 and getting this np300. May mga question lang hope u can help me decide.

Wala ba issues sa np300 maliban sa steering?

Na fix naba nila yung steering?

Hindi ba maselan sa oil? Wala kasi ako time pumila sa casa.

Yung binigay sakin discounted price ng calibre mt is 1,002,000. May alam ba kayo casa mas mura. Baka kunin ko ng cash?

Kaya ba ng engine umabot ng 200k kms without any problem? Yung hilux sr5 ko kasi 250k kms di pa na open engine.

    Thanks

NP300 since July 2015 with ODO of 33K. So far, the only issue is the steering. Casa already acknowledged it and waiting for the upgraded part na lang. They didn't recommend to replace with the currently available part as it may cause the same problem. Thanks.

    Hello po,

I am planning to buy NP300 EL Calibre next month. I would like to know if it is better to get Manual or Automatic? It is first time for me to buy pick up diesel. I am worried if A/T tranny is slow and sluggish compare with Manual.

    Thanks for replying.

I have the Manual NP300 EL Calibre and have no concern on power. One of my coworkers have the same model but the Automatic one at okay naman daw hatak. Although I have not driven his unit. Thanks.

Best riding comfort, it's just the noise coming from the steering part pero they will fix it once parts from Nissan will arrive within this year.
