Could be the engine is in need of a check-up already (fuel system or the glow plugs); both the TD27 and QD32 start up on one click after the plug light turns off usually.Originally Posted by jvandanne
The 4x4 a/t models (first gen) would go for as low as 450K if it's in not-so-good condition to a high of around 525K or so nowadays IMO.
how do i confirm that its indeed the glow plug that needs changing? any inspection i can do or someone to check it for me?Originally Posted by vinj
and any idea how much it would cost just in case it needs changing?
thanks for the input
Originally Posted by jvandanne

may pasenger airbags po yun sa akinFrontiers only have airbags for the driver even up to now.
Pwede carryboy, pace edwards at gatorcab at iba pa. Yun billet grille alam ko may nagfabricate dito niyan, not sure.
I need to change my front brake pads, ang sabi ng Taga caltex na technician kailangan na daw e pa re-face ang rotor disc ko kasi rough na sya.. pero sabi naman sa akin ng taga nissan na casa ok pa daw un??.... Just want to make sure kasi napaka mahal ng brake pads ng frontier baka mabilis ma ubos pag di sya smooth.. mga sir ano po ba ang basis na kailangan na e pa re-face para mag smooth ulit ang rotor dics?? thanks
hi guys! i am a newbie having some problems with my '99 fronty 4x4, was hoping someone could help out. i have noticed na hindi umiilaw yung glow plug indicator, already checked the bulb, ok naman. hindi naman siya hard starting sa umaga kahit na malamig (13-18C). meron na ba naka experience ng ganito? wala kasi casa somewhere near our place. salamat in advance![]()
1) when you check the bulb, did you try to swap it with another working bulb? merun kasing bulb na busted na pero mukhang intact pa yung bulb coil, so minsan akala mo hindi pa busted.
2) paki check mo ang fuse sa fuse box ng glow plug... pag hindi pa rin yung busted, it would be best sa casa mapatingnan... hindi naman yan major problem kasi working naman.
yes, have tried changing the bulb with a working one. with regards sa fuse, how many fuse does the fronty have for glow plug? kasi sa wiring diagram from the service/repair manual 2 yung symbol ng fuse but i could only see the one inside the engine bay which is not busted. btw meron ba service center ang nissan na malapit sa baguio? first time ko kasi mag nissan.. thanks
Hi All!
My first time here. I never thought there was a following for the Frontier.
It's nice to know that a lot of you enjoy your frontiers. I enjoy mine. I just put in 18"Gram lights on my frontier and they look great. I never thought 18" would look that cool on a frontier.
Anyway, I got almost eveything covered for my frontier and its my daily driver. I got the latest JLW3 8inchers in a ported box in the rear back seat and it fit. They sound great. I got a Jensen DVD/Radio HU Precision power Art series amps (im a bit old school). I got the mags done today. And now I am truly enjoying the Holidays!
Merry Xmas to All!!!
how much are the ATF filters of the frontier nowadays? and how many liters of ATF are used every change ATF? i'm posting this query for my bro. tnx![]()
What's the tire size of your cousin's Frontier? I had a 2.7L 4x2 E m/t and on flat road it would manage about 145kph-150kph with the 235/75R15 Bridgestone Desert Duelers (same size as a 4x4 tire). The fastest i've ever hit with mine was an indicated 178kph on a downhill stretch on the Star Tollway before (gravity induced top speed... hehe); this was with 225/70R15 highway terrain tires.
The 3.2L engines in the 4x2 models, in good condition, would do around 150kph even on a flat road (with the stock 215/75R15 tires).
On the ride, change your shocks to KYB Gas-A-Justs (the stock shocks are crappy and make the ride more bouncy) then reverse the rear helper spring. It'll improve the ride quite much and the payload capacity of the Frontier won't be affected really unless you carry the really heavy stuff (with it's friggin high payload capacity).
how i wish mine would run that fast too, or kahit 140 to 150 na lang, pero away talaga eh
I forgot to add, mine also had a flat rear hard bedcover, that may have helped a bit on reducing the drag.
Everim, try to do a general service first: Change your fuel filters (prior to goind that, purge your fuel system with a stong mix of Biodiesel around a week before), change/clean your air filter and check your valve tappet clearances as well.
Is the tok sound when at full turn constantly on both the left and right, or only when you're at full turn and you hit something (like a bump or going up or down a curb)? If so and it's a metallic sound, check first the plastic stopper behind the wheel (on the control arm if i recall it correctly)
