i read sa NAva meron sila problem sa pagtimpla ng accelarator parang delay ang response ng engine kaya namamatay pag nasa ist gear.

SObra pla usok ng nava, parang jeepney.

IMHO, If I were a owner of a nav. my 1st gear will be opted to not be used anymore due to the very near arrangement of the gears, and the 2nd gear is already enough, and another thing is that maybe that's the reason why we can read some burning clutches early in the odometer reading because maybe the owners aren't aware of the very near gear arrangements. so when it comes to those situations 6th gear wouldn't be an advantage anymore...


And Regarding with the NAV emitting smoke....

I was in baguio just this weekend, and on our way up using kennon road I was surprised by a thick whitish black smoke in front of me, and when we covered the sharp turn after the lion's head I was again surprised that it was a maroon navara with dealer plates emitting it, and I thought that it was a jeepney or an old delivery truck..yes it was fast but to think that it has still its dealer's plates and its already puking out that amount of smoke? well that's a big turn off for me...

FYI I'm not saying that our strada's doesn't emit smoke.Well not as much as the navara's do But I'm just sharing my 1st Hand experience and there is no harm intended....

* nanofossil, I totally agree with sir Pol-pol. Your sales agent should have exerted effort to heed to your request for a test drive. Saludo ako dun sa SA ni sir Pol-pol. Further, I second the motion on sir Pol-pol's suggestion to for you to consider junking your SA (sorry for the harsh word, I feel sorely for neglectful SAs).

As far as I know there are units set aside by MMPC specifically for test drives. And it's a matter of exerting effort to have this scheduled and done. And this effort should be independent from whether a type of vehicle is selling well or not.

After reading this I called my Sales Executive and demanded that she should arrange a test drive for me or else I will be considering getting from other branch. Thanks!

the body colored of some of the parts are simple for painting shops,IMO.
so you dont need to worry, ive done the tailgate(tama ba yung term na meron 3rd brake light) body clored,the fog lamps,mesh grill and pati yung lower bumper with the plastic grill body colored. just find a shop that you can trust. HTH

Ah ok tancho, thanks for the advice.... actually i know of a small painting shop. I am no fan of chrome my self so I am planning to have the the chrome parts (door handles and side mirrors) body colored.

tnx sir ooba99.. yes sir im planning to buy a new ride after selling my fd. choosing between strada and hilux.. also waiting for the facelift strada.. i was able to talked with one representative of a certain dealer (sorry i forgot which dealer kasi halos lahat tinawagan ko.) ang sabi nung nakausap ko meron na daw sa planta yung facelift pero baka september or october pa ilalabas. yun lang po ang sabi sa akin.. sa price naman konti lang ang difference sa current price ngayon,.,.

abangan talaga natin ito dahil even me, he wont give me a hint, naku bili na ako ng maraming film para mag photoshoot sa strada mo! hehe. im guessing na magiging convertible yung strada mo with sunroof with auto braking system kagaya ng volvo XC60 tapos bullet proofed body with ARB bumpers with... ano pa? hehe

I seem to hear a knocking sound when I turn my steering wheel...its occurence is random but often enough to get noticed. The sound is closely similar to the sound made when a person cracking his knuckles.

Anyone experienced this with their truck? What is that sound? Is it a warranty issue?

I think we had the same situation. here's what the casa did.

first they removed the steering wheel to expose the airbag. My mechanic said that the airbag was very sensitive that's why he really needs to be careful when removing it.

and then this is what the steering column looks like after being remove from the cabin.

noticed that the tilt adjuster is positioned at the bottom of the pic. just to give you an idea on how it is placed inside the cabin.




all in all there is nothing major about this defect according to the SA its just that the annoying sound is being produce when you turn the steering wheel that's all.

Just a little advice sir, if ever you already set to get it fixed to the casa
do come early because its going to eat a lot of time. like in my case I got in at around 9am I went out 2pm. its just happen that our house is kinda near from the casa that I was able to take lunch at home and go back there after. di na kinaya ng powers ko hehe..

but the good thing is that it is covered by the warranty so I won't have to pay for anything..... I just tipped my mechanic that's all.

Thanks LR777. Like Doc Ooba, I wonder what makes that sound. In my truck's case, it is not a continuous sound. Its a random "cluck" or "tok" when I turn the steering wheel. Yesterday it happened while I was parking my truck, but I also recall having heard that sound while traveling through c-5. I would venture to say that each day I use my truck, that sound would surely be heard - at least once.

Will follow-up with my SA. Thanks for the heads up too about the repair time, I usually leave it at Diamond before work and pick it up later in the day or the following day.

Mga Sir isa ako sa masugid na naghihintay ng facelifted na strada.. eto yung specs na binigay sa akin ng SA na according to him is nasa planta na daw.. pero baka end of september pa daw lalabas kasi paubos pa nila yung naunang model.

5.Steering wheel remote for the audio

Salamat sa advance info mo regarding the new face-lifted strada. Aside from those you mentioned, I think there will be a few more additional minor changes, like the tubular stepboard that you see in the montero sports (I hope).

If the price difference will be minimal, it sure will be worth waiting for. For those waiting for the new face-lifted strada, this will be a loooooong exciting wait, hehehe.

Hello everyone, I am new here in the forum so please bear with me with my questions. I already have a reservation for a dark gray mica Strada GLX. I will be getting it next week. Here are my questions:

-I plan to have the edge of the door windows painted black just like in the higher variants. I plan to do it right after i get the truck since I know of a small but good talyer that can do it. Is it a good idea?

-Also, naninipisan ako sa stock na 16/80/205 na gulong nya. Can I fit a much wider tire to its stock mags like 245?

-How much will it cost me if i have my stock mags and tires traded for a slighty used stock GLS Sport variant of 17/65/245? Will the ride comfort and fuel efficiency be affected?

-Where can I get the best deal to have fender flares and roller lid installed. When I say best deal, I mean affordable but good quality. A car accessory shop offered me 9k for a body color fender flares and 33k for a Carryboy roller lid. Ok ba yun?

-Last time we had a traded-in 245/65R17 with OEM rim from a 3.2 strada, our customer traded his 205/70R16 with OEM rims and added 15k.
-Montero Sports rims 17" with new BFG Long Trail 265/65R17 tires, our customer traded his 205/70R16 with OEM rims and added 25K.
