any GLS Sport owners here able to add the rear fog from the GLS Sport SE? kailangan ba palitan ang stalk switch? wala pa abang na linya?
also, has anybody noticed if the cargo area cover is already available and how much?
thanks

hi guys, my SA delivered my MS 4x2 today sa bahay, red sya. wanted to share some pics sana, kaya lang i dont know how to attach here. anyway, i'm very pleased with my MS and i must say that its worth every cent.
question lang po,
1. is it true that i cannot run my MS more than 100km/hr if it has not yet reached its first 1,000km? and completed its first pm?
2. what type of oil do i need to use for my first 1,000km pm? i was told that i should not use synthetic oil.
3. what are the do's and dont's during the break-in period? what do i need to look out for?
pasensya na po sa mga questions na 'to, this is my first brand new vehicle kasi.
thanks in advance..
best regards,
howie

to answer your questions: --AFAIK (as far as i know)--
according to the manual, it is ideal to maintain speeds below 100kph for the break in period. however, some MS owners here did otherwise and (i think) they haven't reported any problems after doing so. feel free to back read about 20-35 pages of this thread to find out po. You can also refer to the owner's manual for other Do's and Don'ts for the break-in period and PMS details.
pls. click on the link for the Montero Sport PMS thread:

i hope this helps... thanks.![]()
what i'm sure about is with the stalk- pareho for all the Montero Sport Line-up (take note: 2.5 GLS 4x2, 3.2 GLS 4x4 and 3.2 GLS SE 4x4) pati sa Strada! if you can look closely at the ring to twist upward and downward, there are two arrowheads. twist it upward once will turn on the front foglamp and the second time will turn on the second foglamp. this is vice versa with turning it off by twisting it downwards.
as far as the wiring goes, i will let the monty owners answer that... some of them might have gone to the bone to check the wirings... hehehe... thanks
tonneau cover you mean? so far wala pa yata. this feature is very useful with my Space Wagon and im sure its useful for the Outie Users as well.

Same price I paid for the 1k PMS at Kar Asia. However, hanggang change oil (synthetic) and filter lang. I noticed higher ang price ng oil and oil filter. Makes me think about supplying my own oil (I can get higher/better specs than the xp turbo) and also get the orig oil filters in Mitsu Casas in Manila.
Can someone advice me ano ang high, low and fog lamp types (h3, h4, h11, etc) ng MS? I read it somewhere in this thread pero hindi ko na mahanap. I dont have access to my owner's manual as I am out of town and planning to buy some HID lamps. Plano ko HID for high beam and fog lang kasi I find it weak when you turn it on sa dark and hilly roads going to and from gensan.
Thanks in advance

ok lang naman kung magkakamukha mga units natin eh.. sa gls se, yung "SE" and yung sa left na rear light lang naman ang difference eh compared sa gls.. yung sa 4x2 and 4x4, if it's really identical sa exterior, ok lang din yun i guess
It's better to have a montero with similar looking variants than not have a montero at all![]()
tsk tsk. and people thought getting a diesel suv is always cheaper in the long run. i had a santa fe for 2 years now, my first crdi. pero pag-kinompute ko talaga cost ng PMS vs. a 3rd gen CRV ng cousin ko. talagang i'm going to pay more.
anyway, hindi kayo nag-iisa. malamang mga naka-fortuner na diesel ganyan din inuubos.

Hi Outcast,
Thanks for the info. I'm thinking of putting 4300k for hi beam as it gives better visibility at night, raining or foggy conditions. Had used superwhite halogens before and it really do not fit into those driving conditions. Any comments or suggestions?
TIA

mga sir, question po... meron na po bang nakapaglagay ng LCD HU sa montero? kung meron po pa post naman po pics or maski na link na lang...
salamat po
Hi, in my opinion if you want the best and brightest shade of HID for any driving condition, it would be the yellow ones, 3000k. Definitely it'll be bright as crazy! Another advice is.. don't get cheap HIDs if you want it for function. A lot of people buy the cheaper HIDs thinking its all the same.. YOU ARE WRONG! (to those with cheap HIDs thinking its the same). If you're like me and want it both for the looks but mainly for its function, check out the philips HIDs and also the 50watt HID from Xenon bulbs. THose are very very bright even if you get the white ones, 6000k color. But i think for functionality and brightness alone, the 3000k would have to be the best for all road conditions.Hi Outcast,

I'm currently using 50watt 6000k HIDs from xenon-bulb.. and i can outshine and even brighten up the road for the people around me.. I'll definitely eat the brightness of the cheap HIDs even if i'm behind them, my beam will go further than theirs. There's a story behind that too, but that's for next time.
Hey i'm sorry for those who are affected.. I have nothing against you personally, just your lights. Again, its just a personal opinion/preference and i'm not out to specifically or directly insult anybody.
LCD HU? That's the same as a DVD HU right? or is that a new tech i've haven't heard of yet? Or i'm just so sleepy i can't think straight?mga sir, question po... meron na po bang nakapaglagay ng LCD HU sa montero? kung meron po pa post naman po pics or maski na link na lang...

Well if its a DVD HU, or a monitor, check back in the earlier posts.. i posted some pics of my HU and where i placed it. Check along the pages in the 50s or 60s. i think its there somewhere.
the trick there is that the CASA will give you 3 letters of certification, 1 for each week, certifying that the plate is being processed, that's how my casa did it, and they did what they said, before the 3rd letter expired, i got my plate number already complete with OR and CR. so that way, you can still use your MS as often as you want, but just be careful, i am afaraid pretty soon, the MS will be the target of carnappers since it is the hottest selling suv now in the philippines.![]()
sir N T Y c E, salamat po. I was referring to any HU na may LCD (whether monitor lang sya or with player na din.)
Nga pala sir, I noticed nga pala na iba na yung shape ng center dash ny. I compared it dun sa brochure ng GLS SE.
good day, I've read here that on a typical change oil of the montero 3.2L A/T uses 9litres of engine oil. Its a lot, is this 9litres also used to lubricate the transmission system? some 2.5l diesel M/T of other manufacturers require only 4.5 litres of oil. just curious![]()
howdy guys, just placed a reservation for a white 4x2 last thursday, still waiting for the unit. One question lang, will there be a m/t variant of the montero sport? good day![]()
I am extending The Strada Club (TSCP) joint meet-up with Club Mazda3 on March 28, 3pm Metrowalk gravel Parking. You may use this time and venue to meet fellow MS owners as well as your friends from Strada Club and Club Mazda3.
I know many interested MS owners would like to start your own club, and a few have started to initiate the meet but did not push through for whatever reason. Even if only less than 5 would be available, at least you would have started the ball rolling.
Hope to see you guys there. Nothing formal, just a gathering of Mitsu and Mazda enthusiast. I have also extended invites to Club Outlander of the Philippines (COPS).
Congrats to the new owners of the MS. Now you know why TSCP have been active and been vocal about this vehicle, now you MS owners are also feeling that excitement with your Montero Sport.
Sorry for the O.T.

Where my HU is now, use to be a display and console slot, (anybody have a pic to help explain?). I yanked it out and replaced it with the HU. It directly fits, because originally, that area is meant for gps monitors or 2din monitors. So its really meant for a 2din HU. The tricky part is choosing the right HU because its kinda shallow since the a/c duct is exactly behind it, that's why mine is kinda poping out, but very minor. And if you look towards the bottom, under the a/c controls, there's a compartment there? That use to be where the stock HU was installed. I think i remember seeing a pic of the 4x2 and display on top is something else or is different?sir N T Y c E, salamat po. I was referring to any HU na may LCD (whether monitor lang sya or with player na din.)

So any good installer should be able to put any 2din HU in there, maybe slight shaving to fit, depending on HU, but i think it should fit most 2din HUs no problem. I can't remember the 4x2s console but i noticed it was different nga from the 4x4, but i'm sure you can take that out also and replace it.. if you don't mind taking it out and voiding few warranties. hehehe
