nagtataka rin ako sir kung bakit sa ibang brands mabilis lang e.. like civic ng officemate ko, he got his unit a month after mine pero he has his plate already.. altis ng officemate naman ng wife ko, a little over 2 weeks lang nabili unit niya, may plate na kaagad siya.. di kaya may issue ang mitsu w/ lto (at least here in cebu)? hmmm..

The factory only undercoats the wheel housings. The underbody is not undercoated from the factory.

Planning to get aftermarket undercoating. But not really in a big hurry since the MS is not used off road unlike my other vehicle.

Hello mga experts, I'm planning to replace the rims of the montero sport to like 20" or 22".

    1. Which one is the better size in terms of the ride quality? Does the ride really suffer in comparison with the stock rims?

    2. Is it really true that chrome mags are difficult to maintain? Easily rust or chipped?

    1. it depends on how thick the sidewall of the tires. the thinner it is or the lower the series tires is, the more harsh the ride will be. but the bigger the rim, the lower series tires you need.

    2. on my personal view, i dont like chrome rims, madaling maluma yung style(chrome), imho lang huh. rusting and chipping depends on how take care of the rims.

Yup. Ride will be harsh when you change your rims to 22's. Stay with the 20's.

Yes. A small chip on the chrome can be seen easily hence you should take good car of it. I'd be getting the un-chromed rims if I were you, Lenso RT7's ( if i am correct ) would look great on a montero.

    Sali ako.

Got my new ride last week from Citimotors Makati. Its 4x2 GLS Gemstone Gray Mica.

So far, modification made is FXR bixenon HID Projector retrofit by Garyq. Took them more than 15 hours to do the retrofit. Result is quite impressive.

Planning to do following (I'm more into function than form):
    - Complete rust protection (ziebart)
    - Diamond gloss (ziebart/carsaver)
    - upgrade horn (europa??)
    - Turbo timer
    - Rear Spoiler
    - Rain visor
    - Leather seatcover

Hope I have enough budget to do the above soon

Sirs, I'm still about to get myself a Montero. It's going to be my first new car after 15 years. The whole while I have grown an aversion from casa services -- they cost too much, they take too much time, and when time comes that you need to invoke warranty, either they'll reason their way out or require you to leave your car for X number days even if the part, however minor, is already available with them.

So, I hope to solicit advise about where I could possibly get my periodic checks for a Montero aside from, perhaps, Rapide, Bosch, or some obscure but highly efficient shop?

A proper HID upgrade for the Montero Sport, complete oem setup using FXr bixenon projectors, Philips 4300kbulbs, matsushita oem ballasts:

    from:

    stock halogen

    Output of stock halogen:

    To FXR/Philips combo:

    output

Aside from the increase in intensity (hid bulbs has 3x more lumens output vs. halogen bulbs), the width increases also.

    road output:

The HID system has it's own oem spec wiring harness and separate circuits for left and right.
