Sir, I drive one and believe me it's not at all underpowered but superpowered .. you can check out the Specifications at mitsu site and topgear phil. Even at fully loaded including luggage, i cruised swiftly at 150kph but i stopped right there kase natatakot na mga sakay ko!! hehe.. The most i tried was at 175kph for a short while as testing purpose only at Startoll and it can give some more! i*m still at my stock Air filter! but most probably if i'm on K&N Air Filter, i might cruise more with no restrictions! .. at FC i could say considerable at mixed city/hway at 10.3 km/L.

Go and get one now sir!! and join the MSCP!!

Just a question to all the montero owners, when you start your monty (especially on cold starts) does it usually takes one click or 2-3 clicks to get the engine started. Our 2009 4X2 GLS always needs 2-3 clicks on cold starts in the morning when our older nissan diesel pickup easily starts with one click...

mine is a 3.2 A/T and she's already 1 year and 5 months,ever since i don't experienced any problems during starting.

guys, did you ever notice the bad smell of a new montero? How come everytime were inside the car, we cant stand the smell of the interior? I know of two other people who got a new monty, and these cars have the same distinct smell. and we have the same feedback about the smell. any ideas how to remove that "distinct smell". Its so different from the smell of other brand new cars. your suggestions will be appreciated. thanks

we didnt request for an undercoat. unless the casa did without letting us know. it smells like a strong air freshener. too strong that it was so bad. its not a citrus smell though.

Actually i experienced hard starting in the morning with plenty of white smoke, not just 2-3 clicks. I decided to change my fuel and it did the trick. Actually i feel that this montero is fuel sensitive. I used to fill in at some gas stations where the price is a bit lower to be able to save on fuel cost just to realize that power and response were greatly compromised and it is very evident especially on the torque. HTH.

I think that a defective heater is the culprit. Have it checked at the casa. I use different brands of fuel on my monty but I've never experienced hard starting on cold mornings.

Agree with Toronegro. Petron Dmax too for my 3.2 4M41. Just be strict in choosing pump location.
