Mga sir mag inquire lang po sana ako kung saan po ba located ang engine number ng montero w/ 2.5 engine, same lang po ba sila ng location ng old 4d56 engine that is used in pajero? Ask ko na din po ang chasis number saan din po ito makikita?

Im vester from Cebu.. new here sa board at the same time newbie din po sa carworld.. nagbabasa po ako sa mga previous post nyo mga sirs.. dami akong natutunan.. (hindi nga lng lahat kc 8k post.. lol).. hope ive could learn more from you..

pa advise lng po sana ako.. since this is our first brand new family car.. sa thursday na po ma rerelease monty namin (4 x 4 m/t).. according to SA dito sa cebu..

ano ano po ba dapat e check b4 ma release? like scratches.. test drive.. meron pa po ba iba? documents? etc... mdyo ignorante pa kc.. hehe.. ung first car namin 2nd hand lng at college pa ako nun.. hehe

yup, just like what sir XTO mentioned, may i know why you are looking for it? every monty is usually stencilled by the dealer before its delivery to the new owner.

i'm not too sure on where exactly is the engine number but i'm positive that this is located at the engine block. look at all sides. the chassis number is located inside the wheel well etched in the chassis. im not too sure it would be at the left or right though.

for best results, please consult with the Owners Manual of your Montero Sport. HTH.

Just a question to all the montero owners, when you start your monty (especially on cold starts) does it usually takes one click or 2-3 clicks to get the engine started. Our 2009 4X2 GLS always needs 2-3 clicks on cold starts in the morning when our older nissan diesel pickup easily starts with one click...

Sir, I drive one and believe me it's not at all underpowered but superpowered .. you can check out the Specifications at mitsu site and topgear phil. Even at fully loaded including luggage, i cruised swiftly at 150kph but i stopped right there kase natatakot na mga sakay ko!! hehe.. The most i tried was at 175kph for a short while as testing purpose only at Startoll and it can give some more! i*m still at my stock Air filter! but most probably if i'm on K&N Air Filter, i might cruise more with no restrictions! .. at FC i could say considerable at mixed city/hway at 10.3 km/L.

Go and get one now sir!! and join the MSCP!!

ako din! hehe.. got our black monty 2.5 gls a/t last feb 5.. nasa page 411 pa lang po ako so i thought if i don't post now, baka a month old na car namin by the time i get to the last post so i decided to skip to the last page to express my gratitude to all monty owners who have posted here.. been reading this thread since me and wifey contemplated on getting a new ride sometime last year and it helped us a lot on our decision to get the monty over toyota fort btw, i'm from cebu city.. more power to y'all! cheers!

tanung ko lang, i do remember na napalitan ko rin ng kulay nung lcd pati yung buttons ng stock jvc stereo ng montero. what i did before was color match it to the panel lights of the car which is amber. but with our new monty wc is a 2010 model. i can do it on the lcd but not with the buttons. meron na nakagawa sa inyo nito? o baka guni-guni ko lang :D

When facing the front of a new 2.5 montero, the engine number is located on the right side lower part of the engine block. You can actually see it from above when you look thru the space between the battery compartment and the brake master assembly but you may need some light. The number is in a two line vertical orientation. By its location, it should be more accessible from below when stenciling is to be done, I think
With same reference as above, chassis number is located on the left rear wheel well, etched on the chassis frame.
