migs..jepoy...good news. the dash center console is now available. i got mine this morning from Diamond Valle Verde (C5)...Part number is MN179269XA. It is exactly the same as the above shown console (oem look). my next step is to find a suitable display screen and a hu. i didnt inquire for them yet coz i was waiting for this console. if you have suggestions of the 1din hu and the display, please let me know. by the way, the console costs me P1613.29; cheap but oem look!

I remember on your previous post, you said that you also considered the white montero as your first choice... but then found out the reason why white colored ones are having a difficult time rolling out in factories and it really turned you off... may I know the reason for this?

I'm considering white as my choice... and I have been waiting for this for a month now and I don't want to get the silver and gray although dealerships said that they have stocks for this colors... no offense to silver and gray

i think that is very possible. any headrest type of monitor will do if you plan to have that kind of set-up; fixed type nga lang monitor (no tilt mode). my only concern is where would you install the WDTV since it is kind of bulky. i was thinking if there is available cpu which would fit with the 1-din hu. i have an apple tv which i will think on how to install. it is 160gb hard drive wifi, but the video out is hdmi and component video...tsk tsk pano nga kaya? pag aralan ko muna.

i have inquired from winterpine for a 2-din multimedia hu (if i will install a 2-din hu - same set-up that sir ntyce has). JVC AVX810/815 which will work with our infrared remote will costs P36.5K; a better option is the AVT998TN (which is an all-in-one hu, complete with TV tuner, bluetooth and ipod ready; plus if you intend to have navigation module in the future it will also work. But this costs P50K.

the only issue i have with this kind of set up is that the screen will definitely protrude (not flush inside the console) since it requires more room and need spacing in from for it to tilt. Pero "pasok" or recessed pa rin sa console outer edge. (see ntyce set-up).

then for the 1-din that shall be vacated by the stock jvc 1din hu, winterpine sells a plastic box lid for P250 which can serve as extra storage.

aesthetic wise, maganda talaga if we could just install an ordinary display monitor in the console. oem look talaga. then we just need to replace the stock jvc 22bt with a dvd player. too bad the screen is just a monitor and would not function as cool as the touch screen. but if we could find a 1din hu in which the display could be shown on the 2-din display as well, it will be cool. but this kind of 1-dn hu usually comes with a small screen on itself in which it has a video out which goes to the 2-din hu. JVC avx44 is the best candidate here in order for the steering remote to work. or avt s3577 and s3066 but these would require an infrared interface for the remote to work.

another option is to install the avt 800 portable navigation which is a touch screen.sayang nga lang iba funtion if this shall be installed behind the console (like the sd card pics and mp3 player).

as i was about to end this input...i just received an email from la cars. there is a new avaiable jvc hu...avx826 which costs less than P30k. i will check on that and will see whether it can be a good option as well.

guys i kinda don't understand why you want an apple tv or wd tv connected to your HU? Is it just for coolness effect or what? No offense, even if it sounded that way. hehehe... cause the great thing about the JVC unit is that it comes with a USB connection, and specifically the JVC unit can play a lot of different platforms. That's why i love it, either i plug in my portable HD or just plug in a USB Flash and i'm all good with videos and music. So there really isn't a need to spend a lot of money for the WDTV or apple tv, and worry about where to put it?? But if you are doing it for the sake of being able to, then by all means.

Also, if you're willing to spend 36.5k on the JVC 810.. buy it from me nalang, para i can make money also. hehehe

Is there such a thing? You can have an LCD screen only or i think you'll need the dvd HU.. since our existing stock HU does not play dvds, where will you play the DVDs? The screen would need a source? I'm not sure the USB would work also since its made for the stock HU which doesn't play or recognize videos? unless you can find an LCD screen that has its stand alone reciever (dvd player or at least video file recognition) it might be hard. Or maybe one of those changers that has built in dvd player?

Last time i checked, the stock head unit cost about 14-16t aftermarket, only difference is that it has a remote. And yeah the stock is fairly mid level and is very good as is for a single din.

the wd tv will be used as a video source and connected direct to the lcd monitor and audio to the HU. actually this setup does not look cool coz you'll will have to find a place to hide it and yet visible for the remote control to work. the wd tv plays any movie format you will throw at it especially mkv, a high def movie format or blue ray ripped movie file. also, wdtv is cheap which only cost 5.5k. this device is only a decoder where you need to hook up a usb drive to play movies. but the high def capability will not be utilized yet as the car lcd monitor resolution are not yet HD and no hdmi input.

on the other hand, a 2.5" hdd media player like the tvix dvico c2000 or the china generics can be also used as a source. these players are more cheaper than wdtv (approx 2-3k without hdd) but does not decode mkv file. the size is almost similar to the generic 2.5" hdd enclosure.

oh i get what you're doing.. i thought you wanted to get a DVD HU plus the wdtv.. But what your saying about the simple screen then the wdtv is a great idea. That also covers what SAGO is looking for.
