August 13th, 2009 10:49 AM #163ganitiong ganito bro. i can feel the shift to 2nd gear is taking to long. Maybe we can ask to modify the ecu to adopt to our driving habit.
If you will note, the shift to high gear will not happen if you push the pedal too hard and it will even go to low gear if the computer detects you want more torque/pull by pushing it hard. try running at 3rd gear (auto) then push the pedal hard and the engine will suddenly rev high then look at the gear (turn it to +-). it went down to 2nd.
I tried not to push hard from stop (first gear) and the shift to 2nd is smooth as the computer do the rest. But when i try to push hard....then there you go ..dragging....tranny is not shifting immediately to 2nd.

this is true and exactly what i noticed. what i do is i do not push the accelerator too hard from first gear (useless and baka umusok pa) i just let it go smoothly until 1800 to 2000 RPM and once the RPM goes down a little (2nd gear) that's when i will push and there you will feel its smooth and fast shifting to 3rd and 4th.
i think it's normal because of the wait of the monty and if the one's driving is from a gas fed auto tranny, big difference talaga. but if you try the monty on a climb, there you will appreciate it's pure power - lakas sa akyatanLast edited by XTO; August 14th, 2009 at 08:44 AM.

"Contrary to what manufactures want you to believe, TRD-Toyota Technocraft, Mugen-Honda Racing, RalliArt-Mitsubishi Rally Operations, MazdaSpeed-Mazda, STI-Subaru Technica Int., NISMO- Nissan Motorsports, all have their LSD's made by the same supplier, a Hitachi subsidiary. This is because the majority of the normal differential gears are supplied by them. They use the cheap factory casing and re-work the inside. This limits the size and number of the gears, and clutches thereby sacrificing true potential. They claim 4 pinions but have only 3 or 4 small clutches on one side. They use very high cam profile to put high loads on the clutches so that it can achieve high lock up. The problem with this approach is that the pre-load on the clutches are higher and tires have constant drag. Also, since the clutches are small and few, the load is larger per given surface area, translating into higher operating temperatures and fast wear. Another major disadvantage to this type of LSD has to be the abrupt lock-up, making on-off conditions less predictable and controllable. "
