importante dyan mapag-aralan sa MT ang "hanging", like stopping in your ascent to a bridge, balancing the clutch and gas pedal...

That's not good for the clutch ... use the handbrake ... or brake hold feature ...

    "hanging" on MT.

it was a "regular skill", back in the day...
i just step on the break, shift to neutral, and pull the handbreak on.
the hanging skill comes in handy when it's time to move forward again.
and it's easier if one had a bigger engine and a nicer clutch.
amateurs, and those who love to make tutok, would continuously blend the clutch and the silinyador, needlessly wasting fuel and wearing out their clutch disks earlier than usual..
    heh heh.

Hindi ba talaga maiwasan ng manual yung slight reversal during hanging?
Yan usually binabantayan ko, if alam ko yung variant sa unahan ko ay Manual, malaking distancia na ibibigay ko sa harap.

    precisely, po!
which is why i do not make tutok. i put in consideraable distance.
it is prudent to assume, that the guy in front of us, may not be as skillful in hanging, as us.
when the engine dies due to poor mixing of the silinyador and the clutch, the vehicle comes to a halt. when the skill-less driver presses on the clutch to re-start her, is when they can fall back onto your front bumper.

pag na-atrasan na tayo, is when the precaution is imprinted into our noggins.

I feel like this was taught in foreign driving schools.

I normally see drivers abroad do this. pati kapag red light, they only step on the clutch while on first gear waiting for the green light.

    well,
it is an acquired skill, feet flying among the clutch, break, and gas pedal, while the hand flicks the transmission stick to and forth, and the handbreak up and down.
young whipersnappers today do not have any idea of how it was, back in the day when most cars were MT, and had only three forward speeds, and when bumpers were made of thick steel designed to minimize damage to your car and maximum damage to the other car.

    bigla kong na-isip,
many PUJs back then (and still today?) would fail the safety test, as they had no functioning handbreak.
