with today's change of times, are your kids ready for the responsibility of carrying on with life? do your kids know the basic skills you have like cooking , cleaning the house, maintaining your house, working for a living, paying the taxes,paying the utility bills, cleaning the yard, defending the country ? if the kids we have now can answer one of these no, we should be worried. our kids are up to a rude awakening. if you are proud your kid is a spoiled brat, you should not have been a parent afterall, if you get offended by this, you should also be blamed for the bad state of the nation. no offense, you need to take ownership and responsibility of our country's affairs.

that's exactly the point. our kids feel entitled. even the kings were born naked. everybody has one life. if you have life. what if everybody are like your kids who don't give a ****. then who are you to blame the state of our country? everybody who call himself a citizen should take ownership and responsibility of our country like we take ownership and responsibility of our own houses. each soldier is just like any joe, like you and me. they have their own life and family too. we should support our military who chose not to have a choice but to follow commands and orders. to them, i salute them, i support them, i admire them, not the spoiled brat on the block who does not claim responsibility at all even for their mistakes

that's your prerogative sir, by all means. but consider the what if. what if they lost everything? what if the skills they have are no longer needed? what if they lost the job they thought they will have until retirement and to find out one wicked morning they have been fired or the company went belly up? murhphy's law has it. you need them to be equipped with something that can not be stolen nor taken away from them like skills, education, experience, etc. etc. what if?
or are you the parent who thinks or have told your kids you will live forever and never get old. think my friend.

sorry to burst your wealthy attitude. but nowadays and time's constantly changing, everybody needs to know the basic skills in life. do your kids need to be reminded to clean after themselves? do they need to be reminded to inhale and exhale? even the real royalty of yore the prince of england serves in the military just like every male citizen. it is all up to you to educate your children. by education, we mean, not only the things you learn from school but even the things you learn from the school of hard knocks. i guess that's the filipino mentality. most previous presidents including the present one, probably did not serve in the military nor even the boy scouts except emilio aguinaldo, ferdinand marcos and fidel ramos.

that is why, the measure of good parenting and success is not how much wealth you have accumulated but by how much your offsprings have attained not only in material things but also of moral, spiritual and civic accomplishments. so what if you are the richest in your village, there might be somebody richer now or richer later or more successful. most parents, specially the older folks whose values are more than that of material things look at success differently. as demonstrated in my last trip to baguio around fifteen years ago, the houses along the road might look like a very inexpensive nipa hut but had their kids' name and educational attainment or degree. values differ from individual to individual. but legacy is valuable. even if you have been the richest guy when you were alive, you still died and who knows the people who did not like you when you were alive are spitting,pissing or desecrating your grave. that's the measure of your persona that you took to the grave

don't take it personal, it is your prerogative or your friend's prerogative. but the parent-offspring arrangement should never be reversed. afterall, who's the older, more experienced and smarter person?

Strict parents namin when we were younger pa. We (my sister and me) would have to do chores kahit may mga maids.
