I opened this thread because i am sad. Not because it had been a hard week working with only half the crew i normally have (2!) Not because they are sending away the only 1 i have now and i will be left alone to keep this oil rig going. But because my assistant, who has become my friend, has hiv. He does not know it yet. They should not have told me. I don't mind working with an hiv positive person. But it is the law here.

Diba ang health record should be confidential and private. Anong klaseng company yang iaannounce sa iba pero dun sa may sakit di sasabihin. Doesnt make sense.

The country is Saudi Arabia. By law no one is allowed if one is hiv positive or hepa A carrier.

He underwent a medical exam last month. He was retested again after, and then a 3rd time last week. Aĺl results were positive.

Besides HR, only our rig manager, oim and myself had been told. We were told because we are his immediate supervisors. We (us 3) were told not to tell him. We are not supposed to be told as this involves medical confidentiality BUT it affects our operation. Still i told them they should not have told me.

He will be informed at the office by the HR health officer. As to company medical insurance i am not sure if it covers hiv. I hope it does and he gets help.

Hiv takes 6 months to 2 years from date of infection before it can be detected by any test. His wife may have it already. Sad talaga.

It means your staff is bi***ual. There's little chance of transmission through vaginal intercourse e. Unless he likes doing anal with females. Pero usually it's the bottoms that get infected diba.

Also, those who perform oral are at risk din if they have cuts kasi it can enter the host thru those cuts.

Yes I know but the highest risk of transmission is through anal. It blows my mind nga na there are people who knowingly go into ***ual relationships with HIV infected individuals. I'm not that liberal. Hehehe.

It's hard to have empathy for a man who had extra marital relations AND possibly transmitted a non curable disease to his innocent wife. Unprotected casual s3x and that had to be multiple occasions for him to have HIV.

Yes, example of magic johnson..he didnt pass the virus to his wife and unborn child..yes, some eueopeans are resistant to hiv, due to the black death, may immunity sila sa certain illnesses, including hiv
