He underwent a medical exam last month. He was retested again after, and then a 3rd time last week. Aĺl results were positive.

Besides HR, only our rig manager, oim and myself had been told. We were told because we are his immediate supervisors. We (us 3) were told not to tell him. We are not supposed to be told as this involves medical confidentiality BUT it affects our operation. Still i told them they should not have told me.

He will be informed at the office by the HR health officer. As to company medical insurance i am not sure if it covers hiv. I hope it does and he gets help.

Hiv takes 6 months to 2 years from date of infection before it can be detected by any test. His wife may have it already. Sad talaga.
