Mine is only an excel file that tracks the historical expenses as well as the actuals and reports the delta vs the actual money saved /left in the bank... And so I have a visibility of what we can save in six months. This prompts me to look possible investment opportunities .

Grabe!!! Yung target salary ko savings lang ni yebo

Ideal setup ko yung sa wife mo kasi ganyan din parents ko. Napipikon Mommy ko when my Dad teases her about her relatively small salary. My Dad gives his whole salary to my Mom and all other income goes to him.

I know a few folks who sweat blood and tears on the oil front. But They are paid handsomely . 800k a month easy shmeasy. There's money in that black gold. Its the life for a chosen few though.

Why is life difficult at the oil rig? Is it because of the isolation? Eto ba yung nasa gitna ng ocean?

Going to clubs, taking out girls its all mine. And better not to count how much it cost.

27 years ago, I bring home about 3k a month and barely save anything with 4 of us in my starting family...

Now I bring home more than 20x that and still, can barely show some savings.

Just goes to show, "sa paglaki ng kita, mas mabilis sa gastos"...

Not just oil rigs. Wherever there is oil. In remote places. In dangerous places. Try going to the Niger delta or Angola or strife torn middle eastern countries. Or live in the cold north sea. They pay a lot to manage, build , explore, or maintain these facilities.

Its because of the hazard that comes with it.

There are high pressure lines, H2S, heavy lifting and work pressure. You are exposed to elements (heat of the sun, heavy rain).

BTT: how much budget do you spend on eat outs every monthly? If we can cut the amount number of times we eat out every month, I think we can save more.

Yep, oil drilling. 28 days on-call. Minsan pag minamalas kakahiga pa lang tinatawag na ulit. Pag swerte pa fesbuk-fesbuk lang, pag down time naman swerte na kung matapos ng 24 hours. When the rig is losing money and you're the man on point you'll earn your year's salary in just a few hours. And then there's the danger involved. When I am at home pahirapan ako gisingin pero pag nasa rig kalahating katok pa lang sa door ko gising na ako. After 24 years one just develops that feeling that the next knock on your door will be "it".

I'll be going to Gabon next month. It will be my 1st time in Africa. They say the place is nice. The only down side is it's full of french people.

Oo nga pala, mali proposal ko. Drinks sa ofw, pulutan for the rest.

Red Lantern - can you bring enough girls to be the hostesses for the night? Or you might want to offer your house or condo unit for the venue. Booze and food are being paid by the company, right?
