Probably because of fierce competition ... Car companies want to lower cost so they squeeze their suppliers ... Suppliers want to beat their competitors so they offer lower price at the expense of quality ... If you will notice, most of the problems started when China was booming ... A lot of companies switched to China factories because of the competitive pricing ... Factories in Japan, Taiwan and Korea had to lower their prices ... They had to save money somewhere so they skimped on quality here and there ... Pretty soon you see the cascading effect ... Takata airbag, steel quality problems ...
Then there's also impractical government restrictions ... Technology can only get so far at any given time frame ... Hence you have Dieselgate scandal ... You get (arguably) useless technology like engine start-stop ... and so on ...
Nagsawa na ata. Oh well. I can never be happyI hate my life.

Yung Civic halos hindi na gumalaw HP since the EG.
EG - PH16 1.6L 125hp (non-VTEC)
EK - PH16 1.6L 127hp (VTEC)
ES - D16 1.6L 130hp (VTEC)
FD - R18 1.8L 141hp
FB - R18 1.8L 141hp
FC - R18 1.8L 141hp
Same case with the Corolla:
AE101 - 4AFE 1.6L 110 hp
AE111 - 4AFE 1.6L 110 hp
E120 - 3ZZ-FE 1.6L 109 hp
E140 - 3ZZ-FE 1.6L 109 hp
E140 - 1ZR-FE 1.6L 122 hp
E170 - 1ZR-FE 1.6L 122 hp
As well as the CRV:
Gen 1.5 - B20 148 hp
Gen 2 - K20 150 hp
Gen 3 - R20 150 hp
Gen 4 - R20 150 hp
Gen 5 - R20 154 hp
I think the pressure is not solely on increasing output, but maintaining a reasonable power-to-weight ratio while improving efficiency.
So if the car gets bigger, they have to slap on a more powerful engine that has the same efficiency.

You are right.
Maybe the correct analysis would be higher output for new engines using the same displacement. [emoji23]
Still, it is 10% lang from the 1.6L of Toyota, a neasley 4% from Honda.
Yes, maybe we should account for the kerb weight increase per succeeding model.

The time that I've been dreading has come; I will have to drive through SLEX na starting tomorrow because my shift changed to 5pm -2am. Any tips for a newbie like me?

Same as what dreamur stated and make sure to flash your signal light when changing lanes. Stay in the middle lane if you’re just doing around 80 kmh. Don’t be afraid to pass another car, the quicker the better. You can’t wait all day long for a lazy person doing just 60 kmh on the middle or left lanes.

dok may araw kasi hindi muna agad online. Last week may game purefoods ko tapos kadamay pa kalaban so focus ako nyan.
Sila daw magcocourier eh.
Serious suggestion: find out or seek out what makes you happy. Try something new, maybe something you've been vaguely interested in for the longest time. Malay mo, it might become a hobby or a passionAnd it'll be something that's yours alone, unaffected by whoever might come and go in your life.
