I understand his line of thinking, but I don't agree with it.

Getting promoted to CIO is one of the pinnacles of an IT career. You get good pay, you manage an entire organization's IT operations, you lead and train an entire group of IT professionals, you're part of the executive board of that organization, and so on.

Tapos aayawan niya kasi liliit market niya? Bakit iniisip niya na kagad na aalis siya? Does he not have the confidence in himself and in the organization to stay for a good number of years?

Of course the market is smaller for CIOs compared to managers and supervisors. It's a corporate pyramid. Palipat lipat man siyang manager, manager lang siya. Hindi siya CIO. Eto na yung chance niya maging CIO, ayaw niya pa.

Btw, I don't agree that it's a dead end. My tito was promoted CEO of a small local company around a decade ago. You'd think that's the dead end of his corporate career, but he's been able to find 3 other CEO jobs afterwards (his job-hopping is another topic altogether, but my point is there are many companies looking for top level execs).

So if your friend is really CIO calibre, he can always find another job elsewhere. His line of thinking right now is actually making me think that he probably doesn't have what it takes to be CIO that's why he's chickening out of it before he even tried the interview process.

Maybe because of the way he got to be promoted to manager. He was a supervisor and his manager was forced to resign, because the manager and a family member of the family business both applied for a higher position. Long story short his competition just threatened him "kung ako sa yo mag resign ka na lang". It's dirty politics at the company. Bosses are known to create situations that can get you out of the company.

So his manager resigned and he got promoted to manager. He's been telling me that he isn't dreaming of being promoted to AVP. He is leaving that arena to the sharks.

Maybe he just needs to realize that not all company have a hostile upper management environment. Or is that really the case?

Go to a beach with a bucket of beers,- lunurin mo ng alak ang flashback a este jetlag, bro...

Gamit ko Melatonin for jetlag! Works very good in both timezones, abraod or at home

Ok naman..meat cooked in a hot plate with butter, same cuts of meat like sing sing...isa lang yata pinagkukuhanan nila, its meat depot..sauce lang talaga ang nagdadala..iba parin yung authentic, big belly cuts then with cass beer..
