Well you do have us as your digital friends...who will prop you up when you are down and smack you down when you are acting like a brat. We call it as it is. And in this case we are telling you that you are NOT starting from zero. You're 'account" balance is positive and all you have to do is change your attitude and your outlook. That costs literally nothing. Do that and believe me your trajectory will also change.
Its all a matter of perception.

The only real difference between successful people and you is GRIT and the DETERMINATION TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Those things aren't in-born. Those are choices. You choose to acknowledge your standing in life, then do everything you can to improve it.
It's okay to feel sad. Then you turn that sadness into motivation and discipline. Bottomline - GET MOVING.

I made 12k/month before taxes in my first job. To save money, I ate a packed lunch or carinderia takeout plastic baggies and bought only the essentials.
When I was starting my business I sold stuff retail out of the back of a borrowed car. When I started selling to companies I was my own sales agent and collector. Even drove my own truck to make deliveries.
During those times, even when I wasn't making much I never felt like I was poor. Even with my meager income I could buy what I needed. I didn't have money for nice things. But it always felt great that the money I made came from the sweat off my back. I wanted a lot of stuff I couldn't afford, but even without those things I was happy.
Now I sell stuff out of the back of my own car. How awesome is that? April fools lol.
Doing a lot better now but same as before, I still want stuff I can't afford but even without those things I'm still happy. Only difference is the stuff I want now is a bit more expensive. So to me it's just really learning how to live within your means.
I'd try to absorb whatever I can from the guys here. I'm constantly amazed at how generous they are with their hard earned lessons from life experiences. They say experience is the best teacher. How awesome is it to get those lessons here for free?
You should really put more thought into trying to change the way you view and do things. One thing is for sure. If you don't change, your life will more or less stay the same (if you're lucky).
I really appreciate that you still are kind to me. I do need people who will say things as it is and not sugar coat things. I would be very happy if I can just achieve a quarter of what you achieved in life. Remember when you bought your Dad a fortuner? That's my dream for my Dad. When I was in my teens (90s) my Dad mentioned that he liked the ride of the Nissan Safari. I said to myself that when I work, I will surprise my Dad with a Safari. Phase out na Safari, never happened. hehehe.
I have to admit I do lack determination and motivation. But because of Tsikot, I am saving part of my salary now. Not much but I am conscious not to zero out my salary anymore.
