Not really. That was less than half my net take home pay. I know lots of fresh grads who spent past their incomes (powered by parents).

Iba ata definition ng galante ko. Hehe.
It is what you make of those meager savings that counts.

Case in point. Like sir wh1stl3r, i make 12k a month back in my first job. Semi powered by parents din but i make contri na household. Plus, i enrolled in a class to pursue my passion (took all of my savings).
Come today, i still dont know how i managed to live off that. At dahil may baseline na, mas madaling balikan at alalahanin na kaya magipon kung gugustuhin. Kaya nagugulat ako to see na ang asking nang fresh grad ngayon is napaka laki na.

Agree. It is a choice and how would you follow it up. Madali magsimula, mahirap imaintain.

    Meron akong kakilala...

Living with her parents... give or take 25k first job from college.

Walang bagong gadgets kada buwan..

    Di ko alam saan napunta...

This was over 5 years ago, ewan ko na ngayon.

Sorry I thought you meant na magastos na yung 12k/month na expenses. [emoji4]

They let her get away with many things but also don't promote her or increase her salary.

So pili ka lang - gusto mo madali buhay or gusto mo imaximize corporate career mo para kaya mo namang mabuhay magisa.

I don't know why you always insist this Hindi naman ganyan kababaw mga boss ko para mahalin ako dahil "binili" ko sila Matagal ng maganda ang relationship namin. Tinantsa ko din naman when we were close enough for me to buy nice gifts.

I hate to admit it but I can be very stubborn. Kahit boss hindi ako mapapasunod pag ayoko gawin. It just so happened that I was lucky to have bosses that were nice to me and knew how to manage me. If i like a person, one way of showing my affection is through gifts

I'm proud to say naman na although wala akong ipon, I have no debt and pay everything in cash

Actually they moved heaven and earth to promote me. They dissolved the whole team in Manila para I can get the expat assignment in head office. Dami nasagasaan for that pero worker's council didn't approve (that's another story) Kaya one man team ako ngayon.

I didn't want to get promoted naman before because I didn't like to leave my position. But when my salary hit ceiling I had no choice but to need a promotion. That would mean I would have to leave my position and transfer to a manager role. BUT I didn't want to transfer so what our VP in head office did was to talk to his boss in head office who then talked to HR in manila to upgrade my role to manager. Yung role ko ang ni promote so I don't have to move. I just realized how ungrateful I am because my bosses always say that they gave me max increase and bonus na feeling ko bola. But I found out totoo pala [emoji14] Relative to other colleagues I am very lucky.

I don't feel that I deserve the promotion, awards, increase or bonus compared to how my friends work 12 hrs a day. Ako parating late at absent.

Kaiangan ko talaga ipagtanggol mga boss ko they have been nothing buy good to me. One of the blessings in my life that I am so thanful for. So I don't know how my life will be after.

Isnt it better to pay everything in credit card compared to cash?
but of course pay your cc bill in full every month to get the cc rewards.
Laki rin ng rewards wherein you can convert them into plane tickets or appliances.
Syempre you need discipline pa rin to charge within your means[emoji51]

Only if you can avoid paying all the interest fees. Hehe.

Up until now pinagtatawanan nila ako sa na promote parating absent at late.

May natanggal samin (last day nung Holy Wed)kasi parating late at absent pero worse pa attendance ko dun. Malas niya kasi he is disliked by colleagues and management kaya hinanapan ng butas.

That's what I do. I pay for my CC in full every month. Pero I avoid using it kasi nagugulat ako pag dating ng bill. Mas gusto ko cash kasi nakikita ko lumalabas yung pera

Kaya nga mamili ka kung gusto mo self-sufficiency or comfort zone.

But in my previous job I only worked 3-4 days a week and hawak ko oras ko. So pwede maging chill while getting good pay. Mas mabilis talaga magincrease pag lumilipat vs one company lang.

Kaming naiwan sa company naiwan din sa sweldo compared to our former colleagues na nakailan lipat na. I guess may mga comfort zone type of people lang talaga. I think its been discussed here before na napakalaki na ng 20% for internal increase. I think people won't leave a company for less than that.
