I am bothered, but I generally no longer care. There is nothing I can do anyway. The opposition and the administration, they are all the same. All politicians are liars and cheaters. It is our fate to suffer. Anyway, I have more pressing concerns: how to survive day to day, and all these politics doesn’t help make life easier for me!
This reaction I equate to someone wishing to fall asleep in the hope that when he wakes up the bad dream or the big problem is gone.

    Peace

one more thing Mr. BoyFerrari, if all these things against GMA are only "allegations", then i guess she really should not be there in the presidency as everything that her allies said about erap were also all just "allegations".

The 79-signature requirement is there to make sure that there are enough people who believe that the allegations are valid and have substance worthy enough to spend millions of pesos and derail many pending bills in congress just to hold an impeachment trial.

GMA already said that she did not cheat, so in a way, she has answered the allegations already. But despite that answer from GMA, the opposition does not believe her because they only want to hear what they want to hear. And they will not stop and be satisfied until she says so.

And finally, remember that impeachment will cost the government millions of pesos, not to mention many bills in congress will be derailed as a result. That is why they are trying to avoid an impeachment if the numbers are not there. That's exactly the reason why the consititution requires a certain number to be reached before an impeachment can take place. You have to follow what the law requires. It's not just a simple "tell-us-the-truth" questioning.

Arroyo became president when Erap resigned, as validated by the Supreme Court.

Why did Erap resigned? Because he was pressured by the allegations against him and because his cabinet, police, and military abandoned him.

That's EXACTLY THE SAME tactic the opposition is doing to GMA now: throw all allegations, make the cabinet resign (a.k.a. Hyatt 10), stage a dramatic walkout (make sure you throw papers in the air while walking out), incite people to rally in the streets.

GMA says she will not resign. The thing with Erap: he resigned. That's the difference.

National Heroes Day always fall on the last Sunday of August (RA 3827). Last year and the year before that, the Monday after that was not declared a holiday.

We can all say that change should start from us, but isn't it already happening? Just look here in Tsikot, I can see that most people here are intelligent and ready for change, but how can we achieve change if our lawmakers are the ones prostituting our law for their own self interest?
Change can only be achieved if our law can be implemented without prejudice.

Politics, my man, is dirty since ancient times. If our ancestors and forefathers were unable to clean up politics, I'm not sure how our present day congressmen can clean it today. You can set an example, but it will not change the way politics is run... yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

what more can we gain from an impeachment trial? heck, those congressional hearings (tape & jueteng) already tried to roast GMA but there is still no strong evidence to back it all up.

that is why Erap is still on trial today. nobody said that he is already guilty. according to the SC, he abandoned / vacated his post and the SC (including those that Erap appointed) already decided on this case with finality - no use in trying to dig this all up.

and by the looks of it, he might be even be able to get an acquital since the evidence is getting weaker by the day.

Yes given na yung dirty politics. Kahit saan naman ganun di ba? Sobrang garapal lang talaga dito. So ano gawin natin kung sa tingin mo hindi na mababago? Hayaan na lang?

Well said boyferrari! I'm not pro-GMA, but the law is the law. If these politicians will simply walk out and throw the papers in air... there goes your vote.

Ang bilis nila magka-interes sa impeachment, ganun din sila kabilis sumuko.

i am also not proGMA but masyadong OA ang mga luminaries sa impeachment. you should have seen the interview of Rep. T. Locsin on ANC by D.Celdran and K. constantino. Rep. Locsin comment on this one is very much correct. he thinks that the walkout groups timing is not right.
