mahihirapan talaga silang makakuha ng 79 signatures. there's "alleged" bribery left and right, to those who already signed to withdraw and to those who intend to sign to do otherwise.

I sincerely hope this is not true. If it is, there are 200+ Filipinos congressmen/women and not one person there is so bold enough or truthful enough to even shout it out and document this as part of their duty to let the public know.

As of now, it is heresay and should not be taken seriously.

and before all of us forget, GMA have publicly admitted in national television of calling a comelec official during election period. although she did not mention that it was garcillano she was talking to, the mere fact that she apologized for her action means she really did something wrong. isn't this enough a ground for impeachment?

So what is wrong talking to a Comelec official? It may seem inappropriate but her talking to a Comelec official is not against the law. She apologized for it being inappropriate but she did not apologize for cheating, which is what most people are thinking now. And definitely this is not grounds for impeachment.

I'm not pro-GMA. I just don't like the current situation that it is very easy to accuse a person, specially the president, by just going to the media and hurl a lot of verbal accusations of wrongdoing without enough evidence and not doing it in the proper forum. This is plainly trial by publicity and GMA is now definitely guilty for life.

as I've before.... nowhere in the Omnibus Election Code does "talking to a COMELEC official" deemed illegal.

it maybe inappropriate for some - and her apology was directed to those that felt that way.

i think this point is what most anti-gloria people fail to see. so what kung na-wiretap sya and na-release sa public? its still not admissible in court. kaya mahina talaga ang kaso for impeachment since walang strong evidence to support their claims.

yup... and as what niky said - if this will become admissible in court - this will set a very bad precedent.

So how can we know the truth if Malacanang is using all their resources to block the impeachment case against GMA? Oh well, I think this will be an endless debate. She can hide on legal technicalities, but she can't hide that a lot of people are disgusted by her

If the opposition really wants the truth - why didn't they push the electoral protest of FPJ after he died through Ping Lacson? They had their chance and they bungled it - now they are trying to make it up by acting like cry babies & amateurs.

Even if you push through with the impeachment - it will still be a numbers game (remember the unopened envelop during Erap's trial?). Remember that to impeach PGMA, you need a 2/3 vote of the Senate.

of course they will, how can you expect anything less? never underestimate how far people will go when it comes to their own personal agenda. and that statment applies to everybody in both sides of this issue. besides as posted above this is a moral and legal issue. the latter having more weight, by a far margin, in court.

so sa mga anti dyan start thinking about the legal issues because if we follow what you want we might as well throw away all our laws. and if we do that we can then surrender our country to general chaos and mob rule.

Oh well, I think this will be an endless debate. She can hide on legal technicalities, but she can't hide that a lot of people are disgusted by her . Pakapalan na lang talaga ng mukha.

like a lot of neutral people, im tired & disgusted of the whole affair. but im more disgusted and mad at the originators of the wire-tap recording. the country was at least on a good track before this freakin' circus.

Gusto lang nilang ma-impeach si GMA kaya gumagawa na sila ng kung ano-anong allegations then asking GMA to "prove that the allegations are all wrong!".

In effect, itong mga allegations na ito ay isa lamang TRAP para hulihin si GMA na i-defend yung sarili niya thru impeachment. Parang sinasabi ng opposition: "Bakit ayaw nyong matuloy yung impeachment? Siguro totoo lahat yung allegations namin!".

Parang yung mga bakla sa mga showbiz talk show, gagawa ng kwento tapos they will expect na yung artista eh sagutin bawat kwento na ginawa nila sa pangalan ng "katotohanan". Walang pinag-kaiba dito sa impeachment. Yung ammended complaint ng opposition eh katakot-takot na "allegation" ang isinama pa na wala namang kinalaman sa election fraud. Kaya nga ibinasura ito.

The problem with the opposition is that they are not united, that's why it would really be difficult for them to win over GMA. I too am not impressed with the way the opposition is handling their case against GMA.

As for me and I'm sure some of you will not agree is that GMA is the worst. Well, that's just me and I don't intend to convince anybody here.

Perhaps I'm just on the moral side at syempre talo na yun dahil nga mas dapat sundin ang batas.
With regards to the wiretapping issue, I believe kagagawan din ng administrasyon yun so who else should we blame?

Another reason why I should just continue reading the Business section sa mga dyaryo or Business/Economy news programs on TV (eg. ANC Money). At least there are more positive and enlightening news/pieces of info that I may find here.
