I agree. It need not be high-tech.

Kung kapos talaga sa budget for a fully operational hospital ship, puede pa nga basic First Aid Ship (a first in the world?) with tents, a mobile kitchen, generators and ship to shore tenders for quick deployment

With more than 10 typhoons hitting this country and add to the mix earthquakes, even first aid and relief with basic medicines will be more than welcome.

To add, the goverment must also invest in multipurpose helicopters. Wag na jet fighter muna. Helicopters can carry aid faster than any aircraft because hindi na kelangan ng airstrip.

Right now, with hospitals virtually wiped out in the hard hit coastal Yolanda-areas, a hospital ship anchored offshore or docked nearby would be a great relief

The money is in the politician's pockets.

At least Korina is getting international exposure which she wished, but not as a journalist. Emphasist on "wife of the country's interior minister"...

Anderson Cooper never said the words Koring disputes, that there was no goverment presence on the ground

The Empire State Building shines in the colors of the Philippine flag to raise awareness and show support for the typhoon victims.

Agree 100%. Something like this. Not sure if it's the cheapest at US$15m though:

    Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma

Heck, even a new refurbished Hueys sound good right now.

Magtawag na lang sya ng tulong pa and keep his mouth shut. Bakla yan Tacloban lang ata ang alam nyang nasalanta eh. Instead na mag tawag ng tulong mas gusto nya pang makipag talo.

I'm sorry but I really hate the idea of a foreign journalist coming into our land and suddenly became expert on disaster recovery and relief and in our geography at topography. Then yap at the people who have been out there working their ass to the best that they can do given the dire scenario.

A friend of mine took only around 2days to reach tacloban. He took off wed dawn. Bringing with him a light truck full of supplies for his family.

So why the frackin way did the government will all the resources took so long to reach even tacloban?

Ako di na bumoboto, stupid voters who vote for name, fame and face outnumber those who vote for qualification and good intentions.

Wow your friend only have himself and his light truck to mobilize. As if the government only got to Tacloban on day 3.

Took off Wednesday dawn, reached tacloban thursday or friday...Wednesday is 5 days after the devastation. Na-clear na ng Govt ang dadaanan by that time para your friend wont have a problem at all.

No disrespect to your friend sir, kahit papano kumilos siya at di na umasa sa iba....but it's one thing to mobilize an bring supplies for *one* family, it's a whole different ballgame when you're dealing with hundreds, thousands of families. It's easier to transport one truckload of goods, compared to a fleet of trucks, tasked to distribute *shiploads* of goods.

Try mo ihambing with going out with your friends.

Try mo mag organize ng gimmick with one friend -- malamang within 10 minutes game na kayo. Try organizing one for 3-4 of your close friends. Me konting scheduling issues siguro pero matutuloy naman siguro kayo. Then try to organize one involving 10,20, 30 people. things like planning, coordination, logistics, etc. gets multiplied exponentially.

i'll vote anyway, kesa naman magamit pa sa pandaya yung pangalan ko.

    oops OT na
