Closely monitoring this too as one of our facilities is near the danger zone. And a few of our subcontractors will get affected....

Pag Alert Level 1 okay lang yan but of course aware at guarded ka. We are only 15 minutes away from Tagaytay and all is normal, i.e. pandemic normal.

    But, Taal remains restless.

Three straight days of single digit tremor episodes / volcanic quakes, then suddenly 69 tremor episodes right after that.

This is the first ever triple digit count since I started monitoring this on 21 April 2020.

Not a good sign and trend.

We just need to monitor this closely, be aware, be alert, and be prepared.

My bad, that was 2020. Here's the 2021 update. Alert Level 1 pa rin.

    Haha, oo nga ano.

But no worries. It is even worse today.

In 2020 as per the original link, only 32 volcanic quakes were recorded.

In the past 3 weeks, there were 98 volcanic quakes last 16 February and today, 113 tremor episodes.

Phivolcs only started reporting both volcanic quakes and tremor episodes last 24 February.

Tagaytay is quite far already, the only possible hazard that can affect it is ashfall, which is more of an annoyance really, you can just wash it off or wear a mask.

    True.

Also the ridge is pretty much solid so landslides happening is not likely.

Ashfall is the real annoyance. A danger while driving, biking, and walking. When mixed with water it is slippery, like sludge and can easily bog down most vehicles.

It is also corrosive and a bane to metals. It can also turn any well manicured lawn/landscape into a dust bowl

Nung pumutok si Taal last year, ilang beses nangyari yung 3 digit tremors bago pumutok?

We could perhaps use last year's tremor trend to make some guess with the next eruption?

This volcano is playing tricks with us, so better be prepared for whatever happens.

A day before, it was only Alert Level 1 (abnormal) and only 62 volcanic quakes were recorded in the past 24-hour period: TAAL VOLCANO BULLETIN 11 January 22 8: A.M.

    And then Taal erupted.
