While it's certainly possible may pamilya pa yung snake inside the house, its small size also means it could've easily crawled in the house all by itself, which seems more likely. It looks like a baby python.

    Pero sa labas malamang meron.

nope. although a fully grown specimen can be strong enough to squeeze the jelly from our eyes.

nothing bad hopefully. just wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water then top off with povidone iodine to prevent bacterial infection. if possible, go to the e.r. for tetanus precaution.

bro, i think most of us ang una natin reaction when we see a snake is to kill it bago tayo maunahan. Di ko na ata titignan yung ahas mabuti just to see kung oblong or edgy yung head. Natural instinct na natin to protect ourselves and our love ones. Well pag anaconda or boa constrictor yan e takbuhan na
true sir. instinct talaga na patayin natin kagad. pero nun na-experience ko yun siguro middle-aged sawa sa garden namin, siguro mas mataba pa sa braso ko yun, it reacted when there was a commotion in the house and after my dad dragged the kalaykay with him.

noon nakita ko kasi sa dilim, nag-tiptoe ako back to my car. hindi din nya siguro ako nadinig. pero nun na-sense na nya na maingay na ang vibrations ng floor, dali-dali din sya umalis pagkapulupot and crawled in S form to our garden. from the looks of it, it was scared din. but I tell you, pag nadinig mo nag-hiss/nag-crawl ang snake sa concrete, dyan tatayo balahibo mo.

after that experience, I dedicated 5 days surf time researching on snakes and watched discovery channel again. hehehe. anyway yun naman luck eh sinabi lang sakin ng mga Chinese friends ko. which coincidentally, improved our fortune the next year.

fyi lang po, some "sawas" are known to hibernate sa ceilings ng house kasi madalas andun ang daga, and it's warm and not noisy there. this happened to our neighbor recently lang, they heard some disturbance sa ceiling nila, went to the affected bedroom ... and viola, the ceiling collapsed with a 6-foot python on it.

takot po ang snakes sa maiingay na lugar. they cant stand noisy environments like where kids/people frequently play/chat or where there is a motor/TV/appliance running. so you can rule out those places. but be very very careful lalo na dun sa may mga backyard na may tambak ng abubot or mga kahoy na hindi gano nabibisita for months. malamang meron yan ...

and be wary of snake skin na kakalat-kalat sa floor or sa garden or sa soil. snakes shed their kaliskis type of skin most of the time, kasi parang nagpapalit ata ito lagi ng skin and color. so kung wala naman kumain ng tuyo sa place na yun, alam nyo na hehehe

Yun ang warning namin na may ahas sa malapit, then we will just follow yung sound para patayin yung snake. Meron man konti lang siguro.

if you're talking about dahongpalay, its bite is not venomus. nasa skin ang kamandag nya...i just dont know pano ka maapektuhan nito pag nadikit ka dito...

I have no idea. My mom said it's a rice snake. It was about 5 feet long, solid medium green (like that iKobo advertisement above) with a yellow underbelly. It was arched to strike like a cobra and quite agressive. I thought at first it was a cobra. But, it had no hood plus I can't recall a cobra being that kind of green.

ahas bahay ata yan...we used to eat those when i was little. as for poisonous snakes, i had a few encounters with the common cobra. they used to raid our poultry. my grandfather used to kill 'em with a very long stick, or just had our hunting dogs take care of 'em. i think there's only one other poisonous land snake sa 'pinas, it was a pit viper, green in color with rings. i've heard crazy stories about two headed snakes called "palapal". they would sling themselves at you, hence the name. i'm pretty sure it was all made up by our local elders to scare us kids.
