just a few minutes ago, my cousin noticed a black line on the floor of our dining room. upon closer inspection, it was actually a snake! he immediately called me and we killed the snake using a small stainless steel sheet around 4" wide.

i have attached pictures of the snake. does anyone know what kind of snake is this? is it poisonous? is this just a baby snake or already an adult snake? if it is just a baby snake, is it possible that the mother is within the fences of our house?

the snake is around 10-12" long. it is colored black on its top side and grayish white on the bottom side. its mouth can open up to around 120degrees.

i also saw that kind in our backyard but didnt noticed it until my dog was sniffing on it. may nabasa ako na one way to determine if its poisonous is through the shape of the head. if its oblong or rounded, then its not. the poisonous ones have an edgy look, parang pinahabang hexagon.

accdg. to discovery channel, poisonous/venomous ang snake kung diamond shaped ang head, pero kung rounded hindi daw.

pero bakit nyo pinatay, para mo na din tinapon ang swerte mo this year.

4 years ago, after parking my car at maglalakad na ako sa door namin, may isang sawa na itim na nakapulupot sa garden set namin. never noticed the snake, I only noticed the cat stalking it.

quickly got back to the car, and called my dad who was sleeping na in the bedroom. then my family woke up and the commotion sort of scared the snake away ... it slithered na sa garden until it faded sa shadows.

months after that, sinuwerte ako sa business.

bro, i think most of us ang una natin reaction when we see a snake is to kill it bago tayo maunahan. Di ko na ata titignan yung ahas mabuti just to see kung oblong or edgy yung head. Natural instinct na natin to protect ourselves and our love ones. Well pag anaconda or boa constrictor yan e takbuhan na

Naku boybi, magagalit sa yo ngayon ang mga animal activists nyan! There's a "humane" way to kill kasi a snake, hindi dapat pinupukpok sa ulo ng maraming beses...ehehehe

yikes! a snake in the house...

well, usually snakes don't attack humans. and they are more scared of the us than we are of them. yun ang sabi ng discovery . Also, I read that snakes usually roam around where their pray is present. Siguro madami daga sa bahay nyo. And I thought the only paternal link that snakes have to their offspring is only at the time of birth. afterwards, kanya-kanya na ata. so i would'nt put too much thought that the "mother" would still lurk around the house... anyway, its what discovery and nat geo says

pero wawa naman yun snake hehehe. Its just trying to survive. I think yun potrayal ni hudas as a snake talagang may effect sa atin lahat hehe. ako rin, pag nakakakita ako ng snake it scares the freak out of me. And the fact na, ang default perception ko sa snake is poisonous agad... pero di pala(thanks nat geo ) napapanood ko, usually they capture the snake by covering it with a blanket, tapos tinatapon na nila sa labas. I wish I'd have the courage to do this. hehehe. baka mauna pa ako tumakbo haha
